I thought it was traditional for Presidents to announce their nominees, not for the nominees to issue their own press releases via Twitter.By the nominee putting out his own PR, Obama doesn't get blamed for the appointment ("I didn't know, folks. I only read about the new SecDef on twitter today...."). Always one step ahead of us! (sarc)
