'A lot of planning goes into a wedding but one thing you cant account for is a rock star staying in the same hotel and dropping by to give an impromptu performance.
The Who front-man Roger Daltrey was staying at Mar Hall in Glasgow as the band are on their 50th anniversary tour. It also happened to be where Susan and Carl Smith were having their wedding.
The bride had spotted him earlier in the day and asked for a photo, but a few of her friends managed to persuade him to drop in on the reception. After giving a short speech the crowd asked him to sing and he didnt disappoint.
Daltrey performed with the wedding band Milestone, who had to improvise The Whos first single I Cant Explain.
A guest at the wedding told The Daily Record: Everyone in the room went mental when he appeared, it was epic.'

Went to said Who gig at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow.
Amazing.
2014-2015 will be the last time the band undertake a major world tour.
Enjoy these clips from last night in Glasgow:

That would make my year.
Who?
I am smiling at the thought of the band improvising. With Roger Daltry.
I am sure it was fun, but it must have hurt the ears a little bit.
How old are these people? If they are in the usual age range of first marrieds it is amazing that they know WHO Daltry is (or was or whatever).
No, here’s the setlist.

Went to a wedding at The Hermitage in Nashville some years ago. Minnesota Fats, the pool player, happened to live there.
Some wedding guests invited him in and he went straight to the open bar. After getting totally drunk, he went up on stage and started telling stories. Soon, he started humming songs, terribly off key, into the microphone as the band started playing.
After 2-3 hummed songs, the bride had to go up to chase him off. Groom was too much of a chickenshit to do anything!
Best part of the evening!
LOL
I would have loved having Keith Moon crash my wedding in 1966.That would have made for some fun...that is if he didn’t try to shag my new bride!
My sister’s wedding reception was held at an old home that also served as a Bed and Breakfast. It turns out that Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward were staying there that weekend, and caused quite a stir when they strolled through the lobby. My sister invited them to join the reception for a while but they politely declined.
I meant at the wedding.
I saw The Who at Cincinnati’s Riverfront Coliseum including Keith Moon who tumbled onto the stage - amazing show!
Of note, the warm-up act was a Jamaican reggae band. When they played John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads”, the crowd booed them off the stage.
The next time The Who played Cincy’s Riverfront Coliseum, the infamous crowd rush into the building occurred and many people were killed.
Who the hell if Roger Daltrey and who cares?
How did Daltry's voice hold up? I'll have to see what, if any, US dates they have planned.
Read the article...sheesh!
I hope I saw what you did there...
Their energy is amazing, Daltrey looks in great shape for 70, as does Pete.
As this will be their last big world tour, its the hits and classics that are being played. Roger’s voice was superb.
Go see them. I paid £72 for my ticket and worth every penny. I’d have happily paid £100.
