10th Annual Shoot thread ping!
God Bless Elroy, God Bless You All
Hats Off To Ladies, Give Names To Dogs, March Into Battle, Right, left, RIGHT!!
The hell with work. I will be there. The question is does the Texas Cowboy Gang want Brisket and Chicken, Shrimp Creole and Chicken on the side or my Seafood Gumbo with chicken on the side. About a month before the shoot we need a vote on the menu.
Question for the Mom. The El Roy Gang has a tendency to eat a late breakfast and then go to the shoot. Would it be better if I cook for the evening meal at the cabins or at the shoot. It is the same to me either way. At the shoot two years ago I was a bit embarrassed as we ran out of brisket and thus this year I also cooked extra and also brought chicken. This year we had excess and my dog was very appreciative of this. Thus the question is do I cook at the shoot are for the evening meal.
I am retired now but do work every other weekend to make a little change for important things like flying my glider, trips, firearms, and the Texas Cowboy Shoot. If they want me to work that weekend I will call in "dead" and tell them Monday it was a miracle and show up for work the next weekend.
I really enjoyed staying with the Texas Cowboy Gang at the last shoot. It is like being with family but nobody gets pissed off at each other. These times are special and it was great to meet Fling Wing Flyer and his family and to sit down and have adult beverages with the gang, even Humble /S. We love you Humble :)
As OIL FIELD TRASH I had a particular like for El Roy. When I first meet him at one of his shoots, it was instant rapport. We had been to many of the same places around the world but not at the same time. "If you "aint" OIL FIELD TRASH" you will not understand.
El Roy is special. Our shoots are a time for like minded spirits to get together and have fun in the name of EL Roy, he would like that.
Looking forward to seeing the Gang Again. We are different and that is good!
Are they still having those shoot things?
BTTT
Thank you so much!
Cottage Info Ping . . .
The rate for Thursday night is $139.50, Friday & Saturday rate is $148.50. When making the reservation let them know that you are renting one of the cottages blocked for TCMS. You might also have to give them my name, since I reserved all the cottages.
They will not charge your credit card until the day you check in, and if you cancel your reservation within 48 hours of check in your card will not be charged.
Deadline for making reservations is March 30th.
We should have our Thursday night dinner at Mac’s BBQ. They catered our lunch last time we were in that neck of the woods.
Instead of doing burgers and stuff on Friday, I plan on doing seafood & crawfish. There are some folks that don’t like to have the same type meal two days in a row. {Me - I could eat seafood seven days a week}
Little Man & I will certainly be there. We can bunk with “JohnNRod” or get our own cottage. Not a big deal.

Aransas Pass...to me means I can tie in a shoot..and a fishing trip!!
Sounds awesome!!
Question...
Who was it that had their daughter make up those “Occupy the Gun Range” magnets bumper stickers???
IIRC, they said the had a print shop somewhere...
I just do not remember right off the top of my head...
Hello Mom
It has been an honor to cook for El Roy after his passing.
What do we want this year, my shrimp gumbo, steaks, or my brisket?
I miss El Roy!!!!!!
Dang, why do y’all have to get all exotic and all????? P.A. is my last stand!
This sounds like such fun! Ya,ll are going to have a blast...... ; )
I talked to the folks at Pelican Bay Resorts this afternoon, they said of the fifteen cottages I reserved for our group, eight cottages have been reserved. For those that aren’t that great at math, that means there are seven cottages still up for grabs.
Really looking forward to seeing so many FRiends & hopefully meeting a few new ones.
Abusing the ping list for some cuteness . . .
Our grandson playing with a fish at the Rockport Aquarium.
I received a call from Pelican Bay Resorts today. There are four cottages still available, if those are not reserved by end of business tomorrow (5/9) they will be released from our reservation and ready for the general public.
Almost that time!!
Talked to Mr. Schwenke this morning he said the range is nice and dry.
We Thursday folk will need to figure out what to do for dinner ~ my $0.02 is to eat at Alice Faye’s as they make a mean burger.
Friday night we will cook crawfish, shrimp and oysters.
Since our buddy cpdii is unable to make this trip, I have placed an order with Mac’s BBQ for lunch on Saturday.
Saturday night we will have left over BBQ & Brats!
Friday night’s dinner contribution will be $15.00; Saturday lunch will be about $10.00 (I’ll have a real number this afternoon); Range cost is $15.00.
We are bringing two tables & four chairs to the range ~ I think there is a canopy at DCS I can grab. If you have a canopy and room, please bring it to the range. Chairs also, so you won’t have to sit on the ground to eat.
We do have the club house at Pelican Bay for both Friday & Saturday night, at no charge!
I can’t think of anything else at this time.
Looking forward to seeing everyone & will surely miss those that are unable to attend.
