(CNN) -- A missing Ohio State University football player has been found dead, authorities said Sunday.
Kosta Karageorge, a fifth-year senior, had missed practice Wednesday and hadn't been seen since.
Sgt. Richard Weiner, with Columbus police, said that Karageorge died from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
His body was found inside a Dumpster and identified at the scene through tattoos, Weiner said.
A handgun was also recovered at the scene.
It was not immediately clear how long the body had been in the Dumpster, Weiner said. An investigation is ongoing.

Agreed. His body and the gun were found in the dumpster in an attempt to delay the finding of either, or more likely an attempt to dispose of the body and murder weapon at a landfill via a waste hauler dump. A tragedy. He ran into the wrong crowd while out and about in a confused state. There are some areas of Columbus that are not where you want to be alone, at night, and in a confused or intoxicated state of mind.
I’m wondering too. I just can’t fathom his family’s pain. Prayers.
Supposedly he texted his mother the night he disappeared saying he couldn’t deal with the headaches and concussions of playing football. Why he didn’t just quit football is the question but he’d probably heard the stories about people with CTE like Junior Seau who never get better and decide to commit suicide instead of getting help.

they are light on living experience and overblow minor troubles and issues and think the world ends b/c someone dumps them, for example. if they are under 25, their brains are not a fully-adult formed brain yet.
dunno. if he was depressed or acting weird around the time people saw him last, maybe. if not there could be a lot more to it.
I would hope (but not bet my next SocSec depo$it on) that the police would investigate this thoroughly and not just accept it at face value as a suicide.
Are authorities certain it was this young man that typed that text to his mother? Could he have been forced to type that? Could it have been typed by someone else to cover a crime?
well if you aren’t thinking right in the first place killing yourself in a dumpster may not seem odd.
