I understand all the corroborating witnesses were black. Or, at least that is what the prosecutor said.

There were lots and lots of witnesses who were worthless. Read the testimony, the police would turn off the recorder and say, “you’re lying” ... then turn it on and the witness would admit he was lying and say something else, often as silly.

A few witnesses said that Mike Brown got down on his knees in the middle of the street, put up his hands to surrender. The officer then walked up to him and pumped him full of bullets and he fell over in the street dead.

Some said the officer kept shooting him in the back until Brown died.

Really, it’s scary how some of the witnesses lied.

Certainly there were contradictory witnesses. My understanding, which has not been well contradicted by pro-rioter sources is that their testimony was inconsistent, contradicted the other contradictory witnesses and/or the forensic evidence on major points.

In any event, my original observation was that the writer of the piece posted couldn't believe the cop's testimony, and I was pointing out that non-cops of several races without the same kind of interest in the outcome corroborated it, which should be even harder to believe from the writer's perspective.

Neither the original article writer or I would find it odd that someone would contradict the cop's testimony regardless of what it was, so your question, while pertinent in another context, really has nothing to do with the point I was making.
