I've sent bouquets for Mother's Day, For Father's Day, a shirt and card.
While they came from the heart, They all fell short of saying how special you both are.
It wasn't ' til I was up and gone, Married with a couple of kids of my own, Doing what mamas and daddies do, That I realized what I must have put you through.
So thanks again for the love in the cradle, And all of the changes that kept me dry.
And thanks again for the love at our table, And tannin' my bottom when I told you a lie.
For takin' me fishin' and flyin' my kites, And tuckin' me in, yes, night after night:
To my beautiful life-long friends, Hey, Mom and Daddy thanks again.
I'm still a young man, least I think I am, But I'm watchin' my own hair turn gray.
And your call last Sunday brought to mind, That I owe you a debt I can never repay.
So thanks again for worryin' and waitin', When I started datin' on weekend nights.
And thanks again for the help with my homework, And sittin' up with me till I got it right.
Your car for the prom, your letters in 'Nam,
But most of all, Daddy, for marryin' Mom:
To my beautiful life long friends, Hey, Mom and Daddy thanks again.
To my beautiful life long friends, Hey, Mom and Daddy thanks again.

Amani, which means peace in Swahili, is the name of a Labrador retriever pup that has some special friends. Amani lives with two young cheetahs at the Dallas Zoo. Zoologists placed the animals together so the cheetahs could learn Amanis relaxed ways. Since dogs are generally at ease in public settings, the experts predict that Amani will be a calming influence in the cheetahs lives as they grow up together.
David was a soothing influence in King Sauls life when a distressing spirit troubled him (1 Sam. 16:14). When Sauls servants learned of his problem, they thought music might ease his affliction. One servant summoned David, who was a skilled harpist. Whenever the king became troubled, David would play the harp. Then Saul would become refreshed and well (v.23).
We crave refreshment and well-being when we are plagued by anger, fear, or sadness. The God of the Bible is a God of peace (Heb. 13:20-21), One who gives His Holy Spirit to everyone who believes in Him. When were agitated or anxious, we can remember that Gods Spirit produces power, love, and self-control (2 Tim. 1:7). Gods influence in our lives can create a calming effectone that leads to comfort and wholeness.
Hi, Kathy.
“With a Little Help From My Friends” by the Beatles.
Greetings on Black Friday Morning, Folks!
Thanksgiving at Casa de Cuckoo went off quite well. It took all four of us to get the feast done (which didn’t kick off until almost 7:30 at night, with all the food prep).
The night before, The Bride taught Jailbait how to make her first pumpkin pie.
Sarge and The Bride had to make an emergency run to the store around noon for 11th-hour stuff, while Brainiac and Jailbait did the prep work. The Bride experimented with a new turkey method: chop the bird into five pieces, crush the breastbone flat, and it reduces the cook time to less than two hours. IT WORKED.
There’s a fire in the hearth almost constantly now, to stave off the damp chill here. Fergus the Wonder Puppy sits by me at fireside, as do the cats who trade off the choice spot closest to the brick.
Dulcimer on my lap, and a pint in my fist...
Singing Silly Wizard by the fireside...
Two years married, three years from the homeless shelter...
...and I realize suddenly, I have a lot to be thankful for.
Hope y’all’s was as good!
