Mitt Romney: Republicans Should 'Swallow Hard,' Pass 'Permanent' Amnesty Bill
Breitbart ^ | 26 Nov 2014 | Tony Lee

Former Massachusetts Governor and failed presidential candidate Mitt Romney believes Republicans should "swallow hard" and pass a permanent amnesty bill in the wake of President Barack Obama's executive amnesty that even Romney conceded would encourage more illegal immigrants to enter the country.

There was no immigration EO. I just checked the White House web site. You really are low-info if you buy into the BS the media has spread.

How many damaging EOs have there been? What is the net effect of the "Non-EO" on illegal immigration? It sounds like you are defending Obama - what irony.

Ho hum...

Another mis-quoted “quote” from Team Obama designed to stir up confusion among us patriots.

This is not to say we “need to get behind” Romney or Jeb Bush or Lindsay Graham ( Unbelievable?!!) or any other RINO.

Let’s focus our SUPPORT on strong CONSERVATIVES.

And let’s start NOW, when it counts!

I like Walker and Cruz, Who do you like?

What non-EO? Got a copy?

I'm not defending Obama. I'm trying to keep him and his type from stampeding a bunch of freepers with bad information.

Thanks for the sanity check. I like Walker and Cruz too. Would also not shrink from Palin if she somehow popped into the picture. The issue is getting a real conservative through the primaries so we don't have all the conflicted emotions about whether to vote for a RINO or allow the more serious version of the disease loose upon our Freedoms.

Your assumption is that there is a 'less toxic choice' when it comes to liberals controlling the government.

They all drive toward the liberal agenda. Even the liberal republicans.

No thanks.

His statements and refusal to allow deportations effectively allow them to continue and increase their illegal presence and many who agree with him (mayors/governors/services) will allow them to oincrease the tapping of resources that are meant for citizens.

Look, let's stop this and try to find some useful way to promote some real conservatives. Contrary to what many think, I'm not a Romney fan - was just trying to point out that there were some operational differences between one who believes something but is willing to allow entities and the constitution to work it out instead of foisting it off via strong-arm methods.

How do we push and ensure the best possibility of getting a true conservative on the final ticket? We can either continue in the "No Way! No How! NO RINOS/LIBERALS!" vein or we can turn it towards a more positive effort with strategies to try to give us some real choices vs. the lesser of two evils crap we've been getting.

I've had many conversations/arguments with FReepers and have yet to see any real sense of a workable strategy that might tend to pull us together in a concerted effort to get our choices on the final ballots.

Would be most grateful if someone would help us devise a unifying plan/direction vs. a "won't vote for this or that" mode which only throws partitions up and keeps us fragmented.

You want to stop the disputes only when it serves you. You want it one way, where you can attack conservatives that won't vote for your liberal republican, and you can attack them for not agreeing with you. But you don't want them pointing out that what you are doing isn't working.

Try this: Many conservatives will not vote for a liberal republican in the general election. So your liberal republican will lose.

Unelectable.

I'm reading all sorts of ambiguous articles regarding the actions (or lack of) the Pubs are planning.

Hey all...pssst, pssst, a lil secret. Mitt is a big government republican. He will put the interest of the global corp. elite before that of his own country.

On my granddaddy's grave, if the republicans fail to step up to the plate and stop this madness, I'm done with them.

I'd rather see an all out collapse and vigorous rebuilding process by TRUE American patriots than this slow freakin bleed.

The quicker this thing crashes, the quicker we can begin to rebuild. I realize that sounds terrible, but I'm just so damn done with the republicans.

They are chameleons, they say one thing to get elected and another when in power.

I would actually like to see some actual thought on a strategy that will produce positive results. All this can't/won't/never crap only insures that there can be no unity. Nobody ever won a campaign/war or anything worth fighting for by making "Won't" their strategy.

If you're dead set on that being your "strategy, then I'll leave you alone and seek others who might have some ideas for some positive/useful actions.

Seems to me like it might serve all of us better to mend some fences and try to find some common ground. Mull it over.

Perhaps your 'strategy' should take into account that people won't vote for your liberal republican, and change who gets the nomination in the first place.

Because you still just want conservatives to shut up and vote for your republican.

That isn't going to happen, and acknowledging that truth is the beginnings of a real strategy.

I can picture you as a kid when they were choosing up sides to teams. "johnny, what do you think we should do to try to win this game"? [Johnny]: "I can tell you this, we sure won't try to hit the ball, catch the ball, throw the ball, or do anything that looks like teamwork; that only pisses me off and makes me feel like I can't get by with just a pessimistic and bitching attitude about why everyone else is wrong and I'm right even if I can't make you understand how a negative, non-action is always preferable to a positive and concerted effort".

I can see I'm wasting y time trying to find any sort of common ground with you. have a great day.

That’s clearly their strategy. Flood the country with illegals and then groom them to be reliable Democrat voters.

The Republicans will be overwhelmed and politically destroyed in the process. Dems must enjoy the fact that the GOP cooperated with its own demise. It doesn’t get any dumber than that.

You always go back to trying to get me to vote for your liberal republican. All one way. Nope.

I love winning. I did it here in Texas by helping to get rid of the GOP-E favorite liberal Republican.

Dewhurst got fired, and Texas will have a real conservative governor, and not a GOP-E favorite.

I work hard to win and get conservatives in office. But not liberal republicans.

I spend time on the phone and going door-to-door.

I will do everything I can to politically destroy liberal republicans. I'm not a republican. I'm a conservative.

I have no problem working with others on a team. I've done a lot of it.

I just don't want to be on your republican team. You don't want what I want.

And they will be quick to tell you that if you don’t vote for Romney, or the RINO of the month, you voted for Obama.

Yep. They want it all one way, for their republican club. And they want to make rules for everyone else to 'be nice' and don't point out that what they are doing isn't working.
