Did you try the troubleshooting in the network section in control panel?
Red, Network checked out fine. Still going offline too quickly to do anything.
Noted Crossrider-C-PUP, googled it and have just downloaded AdwCleaner, a known remover of it, to a thumb drive and am about to see if it will live up to its promise
