6th Congressional District (Louisiana) poll puts Garret Graves at 61%, Edwin Edwards at 35%

The first independent polling in the race for Louisiana's 6th Congressional District shows Republican Garret Graves has a hefty, if not unexpected, lead over Democrat and former Governor Edwin Edwards.

The poll was conducted and funded by John Couvillon of JMC Analytics and Polling, who previously worked with the Paul Dietzel II campaign during the primary but is not aligned with either Graves or Edwards.

It shows that, including people who are undecided, 61 percent of people are leaning toward voting for Graves, compared to 35 percent for Edwards.

If the Dec. 6 election were held today, 59 percent of respondents said they would vote for Graves, compared to 34 percent for Edwards.

The poll also asked about the U.S. Senate race.

If the election were held today, 60 percent said they would vote for Rep. Bill Cassidy, and 31 percent said they would vote for Landrieu. A total of 62 percent said they were leaning toward voting for Cassidy, and 33 percent said they were leaning toward voting for Landrieu. Five percent were undecided.

I think this one is pretty much over, but 30%? I think it might be a tad closer than that. You know Ms. Piggy will do real well in the NOLA cemetery demographic.

Both those seats are already GOP, so there will be no change in the net numbers.

Ok, thanks. Wouldn’t mind a few more pick-ups, but not this election. We did very well as it was.
