I'm always floored when a patient comes in who is both illiterate in English AND Spanish.

My espanol isn't that great, but I can print out after care instructions in several languages.

In about half the cases, the patient can't read in their native tongue.

And guess who's called a "racist"? Me.

For telling the truth.
