WASHINGTON A company that operates at least 13 wind-energy facilities across three states is suing in federal court to block the U.S. government from releasing information to The Associated Press about how many birds are found dead at its facilities.
Pacificorp of Portland, Oregon, is seeking an injunction in U.S. District Court in Utah to prevent the Interior Department from releasing information it considers confidential. The Obama administration has said it planned to turn over the material to The Associated Press, which sought it from the Interior Department in March 2013 under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act. The government concluded that the industrys concerns were insufficiently convincing to keep the files secret.
The information the AP sought was part of its larger investigation into bird and eagle deaths at wind farms and the administrations reluctance to prosecute the cases as it advocated the pollution-free energy source. The AP asked the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for data collected under corporate permits about the companies efforts to collect the carcasses of protected bird species, including eagles and migratory birds, found dead at their facilities.
Using documents, emails and interviews with former wildlife officials, the AP in articles published last year documented more than four dozen eagle deaths in Wyoming since 2009, and dozens more in California, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington and Nevada. Corporate surveys submitted to the federal government and obtained by AP showed at least 20 eagles found dead in recent years on Pacificorp wind farms in Wyoming.
The wind energy industry has said more birds are killed by poisoning and collisions with cars, buildings and electrical wires.

Buffett is the UBER LIBERAL!!! SOunds folksy but SLICKER than an EEL!!
While they’re at it, they should sue Algore and his enviroclowns for all of the bogus glowball warming “data” they are always releasing.
Barry and his team of geniuses has funneled countless billions into wind farms which seem to generate little energy at the wrong time day. After chewing up millions of birds I don’t see how Barry or Harry Reid has any business talking about blocking useful projects over a trivial number of varmint deaths.
This is why there are no birds in Canada. The wind turbines are chopping up the birds.
It wasn't a guess. He timed it to coincide with the decision by TPTB to finally allow oil companies to go after oil they've always known was there.
In other words, this was insider trading and an example of the way this nasty old buffoon has always cynically gamed the system. He should be in jail along with the rest of his NWO cronies.
I would think a 12 lb. Canada goose would put a dent in the blade...

The wind industry does not fix problems/impacts. Instead they rig them so they appear fixed.
Below are some of the ways wind industry has chosen to fix their bird and bat mortality with studies rigged to hide mortality:
(1) By searching turbines that are not operational, ( 2) by searching for
bodies in grossly undersized areas around wind turbines, (3) by not searching
turbines daily which allows more time for bodies to be consumed by predators,
hidden by employees, and picked up by leaseholders wanting to protect their
income, (4) By not using trained dogs in searches which could quickly find
virtually every carcasses in a large area around each turbine, (5) By avoiding
turbines that are known to be killing the most birds at bats at a wind farms to
be included in mortality studies, (6) By avoiding searches during periods of
high usage by migrating birds, (7) By not counting mortality wounded birds that
have wandered away from turbines, (8) By not counting birds taken to rehab
centers which are later euthanized or permanently placed in captivity, (9) By
hiring industry shills to make sure that wind industry protocol is followed,(10) by not conducting mortality searches the first year of wind farm operation, 11) By letting farming practices plow carcasses into the ground during mortality surveys, (12) By rigging data calculations and by discarding very important carcasses from the data and declaring them incidental carcasses(12) by outright lying about problematic data such as fatalities to endangered species, and most importantly (13) By restricting formal search areas to the roads and cleared areas around turbines which also happento also be the easiest areas for wind personnel to pre-scan for carcasses ahead of formal searches, and (14 ) Pay very close attention to this one
by not allowing 24 hour camera surveillance on turbines that would expose the truth regarding mortality.

These blades are about 200-250 feet long.
Tip velocity is just under supersonic.
Afraid goose is cooked (oops that is over on the solar site).
Private buyouts of former public utilities are a gripe of mine. Utility execs award themselves with shares as bonuses, their utilities receive protection from competition and guaranteed returns via state utility boards (not to mention low interest loans,) then they sell out to a scavenger like Buffet.
Greetings dennisw:
We’ll see if the bird chopper industry can back up this “more birds killed by other causes” assertion, albeit with pre-cooked bird data.
Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
OLA

I know it is too late, but our only real attempt to stop some of the damage was Romney. Not perfect but better than where we are now.
Lamar Alexander referred to them as the giant Cuisinarts in the sky.
“...from releasing information it considers confidential.”
Confidential because the information is “a trade secret” or just embarrassing?

Secret indeedy! Think Burger Biggie wants you to know where the avian donor of that “chicken burger” came from?
Think “Bird Slime” instead of “Pink Slime”.
Gotta stop typing - my gag reflex is rebelling.
Looks chopped and slammed.
