Extreme cold weather is gripping large parts of the United States, with temperatures of freezing or below recorded in many parts of the country.
Four people have died as a result of the conditions in New York state and the bad weather has spread as far south as Alabama and Florida.
Alpa Patel reports.

Extreme! Extreme, extreme, extreme! We’re all doomed!
Exactly. I don’t see how the snow caused “chaos” anywhere. Every weather story has to read like a bad 70s disaster movie anymore.
How’s that “Global Warming” thingy supposed to be working out again?
I can tell you from personal experience, global warming has not hit Wisconsin yet this winter. Anybody know when its supposed to arrive?
I didn’t know Buffalo was on the shore of Lake Michigan.
Mz. Patel says so.
Mybe the water levels really are rising!!!
Is there any way we can speed up global warming?
Chaos! Come now it is snowing here in the UP of MI, the school bus went by 15 minutes later than usual. The travesty of it all the school bus was late. Oh boy such chaos, the world will come to an end and yes gas prices up here are finally below 3.00!
I was reading the account of the girl’s basketball team stranded on the bus for 24 hours and how they “actually” melted snow for water — I expected the next paragraph to read they were drawig lots for the cannibalism to follow.
100 % chance of weather. Oh no!!!!!!
Has the global warming channel, aka TWC! given this storm a name?
There is always somewhere where snow causes chaos. If it snows a half inch in San Antonio TX, the place shuts down for 3 days and nobody moves; Atlanta is much the same. The rest of us in the places where it really snows laugh at them. If global cooling were real they’d all die from the snow/ice and their lack of coping skills.
That's why it is now labeled climate change instead as there has been no overall global warming for about 17 years. The way it goes now is that CO2 is somehow causing extreme weather events, maybe by heating up the deep oceans and causing Chicken-Little type storms. Oh, but wait, the past couple of years, there have been no major hurricanes that hit the US (though large cyclones in the western Pacific have caused havoc). In any event, those who want to redistribute our wealth to the rest of the world and make us pay for our prosperity keep finding ways to blame us for what ever natural weather disaster occurs. Hence it's now Climate Change!
