East Jerusalem men enter Har Nof yeshiva complex with pistol and axes; 6 injured, including two police; assailants killed
Four people were killed, including one policeman, in a terror attack at a synagogue in a Jerusalem neighborhood Tuesday morning.
Police said two attackers, apparently from East Jerusalem, came into the synagogue in the Har Nof neighborhood shortly after 7 a.m. and began attacking worshipers at morning prayers with a gun, a meat cleaver, and an ax.
Both terrorists were killed by police.
Israel Police said there were six injured, including two policemen, one of whom was seriously injured, and another moderately hurt.
An individual who prays at the synagogue told The Times of Israel that one of the victims was American, and another British. That report has not yet been confirmed.
The attack occurred at the Kehilat Yaakov synagogue, located in a religious institution which includes a study hall.
One of the worshipers said the two terrorists shouted Allahu Akbar during the attack, and entered the synagogue without their faces covered.
Photos taken from inside the synagogue after the attack showed bloodied male worshipers lying on the floor, still wrapped in their prayer shawls and phylacteries.
I tried to escape. The man with the knife approached me. There was a chair and table between us my prayer shawl got caught. I left it there and escaped, Yossi, who was praying at the synagogue at the time of the attack, told Channel 2 TV. He declined to give his last name.
A witness, identified only as Zohar, said there was panic at the scene.
I heard shooting and one of the worshipers came out covered in blood and shouted Theres a massacre,' he said.
A video shot by a bystander shows police engaged in a shootout with the attackers.
Hamas says the Jihad attack was 'revenge' for a Palestinian bus driver found hanged.
John Kerry says "This simply has no place in human behavior," he told reporters during a visit to London. He also called for Palestinian leaders to condemn the attack."
Thusfar Hamas has not complied with the request.
"We call for calm, and for all sides to refrain from escalation".
Kinda sounds like Ferguson sadly.
Israel needs to get rid of its enemy within.
Islam is the IS.
Not acknowledging the brutality advocated by islam only creates more violent islamists.
Too bad the State Dept, Politicians purposely ignore islams violence teachings
It doesn't matter, the Paleostinians do not need a real excuse to butcher Jews...being doing a fine job of it for 100 years while Europe tells the Israelis it may recognize ANOTHER Arab failed nation-state.
“Escalation” ONLY applies to the Israelis...
So does the USA
I would not be all that surprised if HAMAS did “high fives”.
ISIS is the TRUE FACE of Islam.
Every Jew a .22
I bet John {Gomer Pyle} Kerry has already made a statement calling it isolated worship place violence.
The Swedish foreign minister (may she rot in h—l):
Margot Wallström @margotwallstrom
Horrific terrorist attack on Israeli worshipers in Jerusalem. The spiral of violence must be stopped.
However, Israel will do the exact opposite, I hope they level Gaza and bury it under 5 feet of soil. Would I care? No. I would cheer. I wonder if that makes me a bad person, but this REALLY makes my blood boil.
It would stop if the islamists would put their weapons down.
A massive counter attack is justified. Hopefully tomorrow I see the IDF in Gaza with 1000x more hamas casualties. Damn islam! The PLO, and HAMAS can burn in hell!
come on Bibi, nuke iran, please.
EXEMPT Kerry and his ilk encouraged these murders,
paid for the weapons using US taxpayer money
shifted by the IRS’ EXEMPT Lerner to
EXEMPT Obola’s own EXEMPT brother.
Note carefully where the candy is being given out.
Fox now reporting three Americans among the dead in the synagogue terror massacre.
I think all we get out of this is a measured Vietnam style response aimed at the bad guys.....Wars aren’t allowed to be won under modern international law-rules of engagement.
Its the way of modern “war” waged by Bushes, Obamas etc. etc.
