“Seniors do a terrible job choosing,” Gruber said.

Gruber’s slide then claimed that 12 percent of seniors allegedly picked the lowest-cost Medicare Part D plan and could on average save up to 30 percent more, without noting that some seniors pick prescription drug plans that work for them that are not necessarily the cheapest possible plan.

Gruber is stupid.

You will screw yourself mightily if you just pick the lowest cost plan and do not carefully check the formulary for the meds you actually take...You could pay big bucks for tier 4 meds, for example.
AND you have to check year after year.

I just got SS and need to choose a part D plan. I realize there is a lot more to it but I am not on any meds and am healthy now.

Any advice to help me choose?

I actually agree with him on this.

Due to decades of social-engineering and top-down central planning by Government, we make choices for retirement, income, taxes, investments, health-care, housing - EXTREMELY convoluted and complicated.

yeah - and they don’t choose ‘maternity” etc - insurance.

How dumb.

With OCare, they get and pay for it - like it or not

Old people don’t really need all the prescription medications the pharmaceutical industry pushes. Our grandparents did pretty well without being old junkies.Endless adverts on TV promoting pills for every perceived problem are for the enrichment of companies.I looked at the various plans available here and the deductible plus monthly premium add up to at least $750 annually best case.

When and why did Americans accept the idea that being older means taking a bunch of pills every day ?

So removing agents, ie Blue Cross Blue Shield agents from the process is going to make this better? My agent and I sat down and went over all the pros and cons of all the plans. I am not on meds as of right now, but if I ever need to be I have the best plan for them.

Maybe under Obama, old people need to be DEAD unless they are union government retirees or employees.
The way Democrats are lately I don’t doubt it could be truly the way they think and Palin did call the death panels.

Next Gruber utterance with assistance from Zeke Emmanuel, “75 year old people are ignorant when it comes to choosing their death plan. That is why we have a panel to choose for them.”

Now hold on a minute - with 50 different options who wouldn’t be confused? Systems should be designed for people, not people for systems. If Gruber can’t come up with a decision tree that illustrates his process, he doesn’t understand it either. Show us, bud.

There has been talk of less or little care or access to anything after 70, just like Europe.

The question is why.
Why did he say this?
Answer: Complete control for the “good” of government and for the profit
of goverment. Money and power.
