Apparently this “fine” applies to those under the age of 18. So you are right - there is a discrepancy since Obamacare let’s those kids 26 and under on Obamacare.

Certainly they have made a rule or regulation regarding this, but it isn’t in the article.

From the article:
“Children will be fined at half the adult rate, or $162.50 for those under 18 years old.”

They're going to start taking it right out of your paycheck if you don't pay the penalty.

So April 1th comes around. You don't have a refund.

So beginning your first paycheck in May....for 12 months, you will have a special deduction (1/12th of the penalty).....just like a tax.
