I drove up to Mt. St. Helens when I was up in that area on business. It was amazing! Several miles from the crater, I believe it was up to 15 miles, there was a sign that read, “entering blast area”.
This was years after the event and the trees were downed all in the same direction like thousands of match sticks. The whole side of the mountain had a gaping hole where it blew out the side. Was quite a sight.
St. Helens was one that I was fortunate enough to be able to climb - before it blew its top. They had an area called “Ape Canyon” where there were (allegedly) Sasquatch sightings.
