Its not particular hard to see their long term reasoning, they think the State can and will appoint “expert” IE: ‘social workers’ to determine if a persons desire to kill themselves is in their opinion worthy.
I think given how easy it is for a person to kill themselves be it with drugs or any other tool legalizing assistance seems likely to do nothing more than legalize a kind of murder.

I see your point. I believe that they see the State as god, and therefore anyone doing anything without state oversight is “blasphemous” to them. In their minds, the State must control everything.
