Losing in 2014 may not mean you're out of politics for goodor even for more than a cycle.
For Democrats, there were plenty of strong 2014 recruits who found themselves wiped out by the Republican wave last Tuesday night. But they may not be out of politics for long: A handful of Democratic candidates, both incumbents who were defeated and challengers who fell short, are already being talked about as future prospects and could be back on the ballot as early as 2016.
"This was a wave, and I think it was also the product of turnout more than these individual people being rejected," said Democratic pollster Celinda Lake. "I think there's an opportunity for them to run again. ... Voters don't particularly hold it against you that you lost."
In North Carolina, Democrats are openly talking about the prospect of Democrat Kay Hagan, who lost narrowly last week, challenging Republican Sen. Richard Burr in 2016. Sen. Mark Begich of Alaska, who narrowly lost to Republican Dan Sullivan, could run against GOP Sen. Lisa Murkowski next cycle. And there are others who are seen as potential repeat candidates: Should Mary Landrieu lose her runoff election in Louisiana, she might run against GOP Sen. David Vitter in 2016 (or in an open-seat race if he's elected governor); Georgia's Michelle Nunn and Jason Carter could position themselves for the 2016 Senate race or 2018 governor's race.

Jimmy Carter’s grandson will try again? Maybe Georgia has moved on from the Carters????
If the Republicans lost the Senate, were pushed to 90 year lows in the House and state legislatures, the articles would be about the Republicans in the wilderness, the Republican Party going extinct, the Democrats having a generational majority due to demographics, the Republicans having to “change” (that is, become more liberal), etc. When the same happens to the Democrats, we get an article like this.
Begich vs. Murkowski would basically be a wash in my view.
Wow. Who’s the Stupid Party now?
LOL, Do they really think all those STUPID Democrat will vote for the same losers that they threw out in 2014 ?
Those tapes of Gruber saying that passing Obamacare depended on the stupidity of American voters are golden. They will played over and over for the next two years. The MSM may be ignoring them and the White House trying to suppress them, but they are a bell that cannot be unrung.
That is a great observation and you are exactly right.
That trash we don't recycle.
In such a case Palin should run for Senate as an Indpendent.
No lose situation.
These folks rotate into lobbying, think tanks, hedge funds and other influence peddling during the “off season” and come back for more.
LOL, Do they really think all those STUPID Democrat will vote for the same losers that they threw out in 2014 ?
well, I have my concerns about this. 2016 is a presidential election year. Historically voter turnout among voters who support liberals/Democrats is higher in presidential years than in non-presidential years.
All the losing Democrats from 2014 have campaign organizations in place, perhaps money left over, name recognition, etc. which gives them a boost to run for office again if they want to.
A simple and quick analysis of the 2014 election and the rats former younger voters:
Besides not liking EbolaObama or their personal grim reality of Obama Economics, the younger generation has nothing in common with the Geriatric Hate America leaders of the rat party and their fawning Abortion Barbie Dolls and Gay Ken dolls, who lost big time in the recent election..
The Democrats, who run America and control Obama, are too old, too rich, and very/very white.
The Clintoons, the very old and very white and very rich, worn out icons/heroes of the aging Rat party, like so many of the elite rat power insiders are ancient in age and in their political core of hating America to get votes.
There are the other geriatric leaders of the rat party: Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, Fineswine, Madam Secretary Kerry, Bidden, and others. They started their power trips in the 1960/70s with a core of Hate America, anti business and supposedly concerned about pseudo racism. They have blamed America for the problems created by them and their allies here and around the world for decades.
Decades, later, they havent changed and still push their out of date anti America core beliefs to buy and pay for their feral voters. Their biggest failure, the War on Poverty, is in their minds, their biggest success.
They have left only false hope and no chance for change for the younger voters of America. Mean while they have looted the treasury and made their families and friends super wealthy elitist chrony capitalists. This leaves nothing but massive debts for our younger Americans.
Their so called younger stars are as dumb as a rock. Their pro abortion Barbies and gay Ken Dolls with even harsher anti America values were set up as examples of the new Democrats. The result, these younger Rat wannabees struck out badly during this past election as did their passe older generation.
Their phony strident constant racist bs strategy pushed by the ratss ancient token Blacks Charlie Rangle, Jessie Jack$on/Al $harpton backed by Eric Holder carried no more weight with the younger generation than the phony war on women bs strategy.
So the current ancient rats, ancient and strident Racist Blacks and strike out newbees, Abortion Barbies/Gay Ken Dolls, had nothing to offer younger Americans besides more pain and blatant attempts to take away their hopes and dreams.
There are two realities facing the elite old whites like $oreA$$ who control the finances of the rat party. Even they may not be looking at these realities.
1. Their ancient voters are dying off or getting warehoused in dementia treatment centers and as a result are in a daily and rapidly declining percent of the voting population.
2. The ancient, harmful and passe’ political tactics of the Rats has lost the vote of younger Americans, who didn’t buy their Abortion Barbie and Ken Dolls..
Yes, or my favorite - "The people are too stupid to understand the subtle nuances of genius behind the grand liberal strategy" article, with it's call for a better job by the neutral press corps in explaining the benefits of socialist redistribution.
And we have a generation of those who grew up under the adult leadership of Ronald Reagan and are proud to be an American that are coming into leadership positions. They have also raised their children by conservative values that teach self-reliance and love of country. I am cautiously optimistic.
A lame effort to ramp up some buzz and energy before the next ‘Rat wipeout.
A QUESTION FOR MY FELLOW FREEPERS: Once Mary Landrieu loses the December runoff, will she live in a Louisiana home or will she live in a DC/Virginia home. Where she lives will tell you whether she is still really a Louisiana resident or actually something else.
Well, you can never underestimate the power of the Democrats. They cheat when they don’t win and Obama is working hard to rally his strongest base, the Greens. I think that us the reason that he will sign the Keystone pipeline legislation, to blame it on a Republicans and get the Green mad at a Republicans. Right now, there is not much to focus the Democrat anger on, Harry Reid pretty much stopped up any legislation that the GOP presented, without any discussion for sound bites, even.
It is the young voters who will resent being called stupid, though. The college age kids, who are too familiar with the arrogant elitism of academia, won’t like it at all. (Except for those who agree with it)
“There are two realities facing the elite old whites like $oreA$$ who control the finances of the rat party. Even they may not be looking at these realities.”
And #3, they will soon be dead too! Soros, Buffett,et.al., will soon be heading for their final resting places in some marble orchard.
