So it turns out there is an Obamacare death panel after all.
It has nine members and it operates out of a marble building directly across the street from the Capitol.
When the Supreme Court on Friday announced that it would take up another challenge to the Affordable Care Act in March, it delivered the threat of two mortal blows to the signature achievement of the Obama presidency.
First, it raised the possibility that the justices, who narrowly spared the law in 2012, will in June come out with a new ruling that would dismantle the law on different grounds. But even if the justices make no such ruling, the very act of taking up the challenge to the law will itself undermine the law. The justices announced their decision just a week before the open-enrollment period for 2015 begins and the looming possibility that the high court will strike down the law will probably deter those who are considering signing up for its coverage....

Obama’s signature achievement is setting back liberalism a century.

Milbank is setting up excuses f o r Obamacare’s failure.
I think the signature achievement of the Obama administration is making whites aware of how blatantly and unrepentantly racist blacks are ...
Yep, as was revealed just this week - liberal ideology can only advance through deception and stealth.
Obama tipped the left’s hand by going “too fast” and exposing what they are doing to us.
Yep, that became apparent about... 2 minutes after his inauguration.
Anyone who signs up for 0bamacare is too stupid to consider future Supreme Court decisions.
Nah, its was fully funding every golf course in Barry’s immediately vicinity.
Supreme Court ?
were that Diana Ross Old group??
Some of us were not surprised.
I agree. Juxtapose this SCOTUS taking up 0bamacare article with this one ... Government slashes 2015 Obamacare sign-up forecast by 30%.
So, Milbank will then blame the SCOTUS review of 0bamacare for the 30% drop in renewals. Facts are stubborn things though. These projected drops occurred WAY before SCOTUS announced it would accept the challenge.
I saw a few minutes of MSNBC on this subject. The liberals there are angry at the GOP because they say this is just a technical error in the text of the law, the intention is clear how the exchanges were to function, etc. And that the GOP is at fault because a simple one page bill would clarify the Obamacsre language, but the GOP refuses to pass such a bill.
That’s the liberal view here. The Democrats foisted a 2000 page monstrosity on us, but it is the Republicans fault that there is unclear or contradictory language in a law they wrote with no GOP input at all.
Kill it now.
Drive a stake through it’s heart, bury it face down and plant an oak tree over its grave.
The Democrats had to hurry a poorly drafted bill through because it was clear after they lost their Senate super-majority that a revised bill would never have passed.
They made their own bed and have no right to complain about their decision to build it themselves.
Sucks to be them.
Obamacare isn’t a “death spiral,” just like most other progressive social-engineering schemes, because it has behind it a fiat currency that can be printed at will, and a Federal Reserve that can monetize any debt and centrally-control interest rates.
If we had “real money” and real interest rates, even social security would have crashed and burned years ago.
it delivered the threat of two mortal blows to the signature achievement of the Obama presidency.
I would say they misspelled one word. It correctly should have read:
it delivered the threat of two mortal blows to the signature massive failure of the Obama presidency.
I think it should have read that way.
Cute line on the death panel though.
I suspect in a few more months there will be more than a few Democrats secretly hoping that SCOTUS will scuttle it.
Then they can quit getting kicked in the shins about it every day, and blame it’s demise on the Court.
Obama gets retired to the golf course without a legacy?
Oh, well. What has he done for us lately anyway?
obamacare is the most abominable piece of legislation ever enacted by Congress and signed into law by a President. It needs to die, and the sooner the better.
