Republicans now are out of excuses

This off-year election shellacking Obama took was his second in six years. The Democratic Party has been hemorrhaging seats in every election but his own.

In 2010 the Democrats lost the House in one of the most embarrassing and lopsided drubbings in some 70 years. Now, in 2014, history not only repeated itself, but it did so with double exclamation points.

That being the case, one is forced to wonder how support for Obama’s policies was able to spell the end of careers for so many but not spell the end of Obama. I know this is the point the “he stole the election” choirs start to warm up, but I did not believe that to be the case in 2012, and I do not believe it to be the case now. I believe the reason he survived both election (white-guilt notwithstanding) and re-election is because conservative voters recognized John McCain and Mitt Romney for what they were and said no to them both.

Thanks to all the vets out there.

How can the Republicans be out of excuses?

They will not even be sworn in until Jan 20 of next year.

Obama has been President for going on 6 years and he has not even begun to run out of excuses.

But in sayig no to McCain and Romney, they gave us Obama....and more Obama. And they will give us Clinton or Warren in 2016 if the temper tantrum continues.

In Missouri, our legislators, Republican of course, have said,”...It may not be a hill we want to climb.” When referencing bringing up Right to Work legislation. Republicans control both houses and can easily override Gov’s veto. But I have little faith in them.

Actually the GOP does have one excuse:

We STILL have divided government and the POTUS still retains his veto pen.

Don’t look for too much to get done the next two years.

I think it will be stalemate as usual IMHO.

the excuse i’m starting to hear is how they don’t have 2/3s of the house and senate

it’s going to come to a point where people say screw this and just stop participating.

I think the developing liberal view is that Republicans now have to prove they can govern Congress and get along with the president.

Whereas liberals do not perceive any failures in Obama or his policies. Anything bad that happens in the Era of Obama will be blamed on some outside force, some unforeseen events, or on previous presidents. Nothing can ever be the fault of Obama and his policies.

So, liberals are saying, Republicans have to prove themselves now that they are in charge of both houses of Congress. Republicans have to show they can cooperate with Obama. Obama does not have to show that he can cooperate with Republicans in Congress. It’s all in the liberal view of things. The media will report events of the next two years based on this template.

I’m happy if not much gets done in the next two years.

If it means we can put the brakes on the Obama agenda, and nothing more happens there, that’s all good to me.

There are few human conditions more dangerous to others than an exposed malignant narcissist. This pResident believes his capacity to sign executive orders allows him to do his masters’ bidding regardless of who runs the House and Senate. Until the adults gather the cahonies to impeach and remove this little bathhous barry bastard boy, he will sign egregious orders that target Americans for punishment for not serving his narcissistic demands.

That’s really the best we can hope for now.

We have a two party political environment and a three branches of government with checks and balances.

It would be foolish to think that much can happen in such an environment.

You really need the whole enchilada and that includes the bully pulpit and the power of the presidency as well as control of Congress to pass major legislation.

No worries. We’ve seen this before. The Pubbies are going to do nothing except further the expansion of statism at a slightly slower rate than the Rats.

If the republicans do not do an immediate about face on Obama’s policies, if they try to get along with this president they will most definitely be blamed for all of his failures.

My opinion of the Marxist cluster foxtrot who now occupies 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is not much higher than yours. I am resigned to the fact that he will be in that position until January 20,2017. Impeachment is not a credible option unless you have at least 67 US Senators willing to vote for conviction.

There is never, ever, a derth of excuses among the cowardly, the lazy or the unprincipled.

Do ya think the republicants can find 12 or 13 democrips who fear being voted out in 2016 if they allow/enable L4B to complete his destruction of the Republic?

I wonder what a one issue obsession feels like from the inside. I mean, you know....all I can say is that it’s boring as shit from the outside.
