And also union favoritism. I always thought ( during my infrequent visits) that Massachusetts use of their Highway Patrolmen (and local cops) to sit on night construction projects all night in their Crown Vics with the engines and lights going ( but with the cop probably inside asleep) was a travesty. But guess what, California is now doing the same thing. Also whenever they do a highway project, they string a three foot high orange “snow fence” all along the right of way on both side ( even though just beyond, there is a standard six foot chain link fence) go figure! Actually, it isn’t hard to figure, they are simply pi$$ing away our money to the unions. But I am glad that California isn’t alone.
