Thanks.
But I’m pretty much a slave to TurboTax.
(yeah I know it’s on the FR sh!tlist)
That’s pretty much all the brainpower I can muster, LOL
I’ve been using TurboTax with no problems - for about 10 years now. Hoping THEY have it all figured out!
That’s understandable for sure, and more healthy for anyone with situations covered by the software. :-)
Yes, you do have to re-enroll annually .... except HHS this year has some automatic renrollment. She should be sure & check that her subsidies are correct. They will change as insurance companies change the plans that are offered & people are going to get burned in two ways: some will be eligible for a larger subsidy & not get it OR (worse) their subsidy will be too much & they will get a tax bill from IRS. BTW, unlike the “mandate tax” for no insurance that can only come out of your tax refund, the IRS can use all methods to claw back overpaid subsidies - critical that people check every year and not go with auto re-enroll.
It would seem to my poor, tired, worn out excuse for a brain that one of the foremost indications of the impending collapse of this country is the fact that so many Americans took this load of steaming garbage seriously and some still seem to insist on proclaiming it a success. Let me say to all that if you have ever thought for one minute that the so-called PATIENT PROTECTION AND AFFORDABLE CARE ACT had anything whatsoever to do with either one of those you need to go back to kindergarten and start over. I can guarantee that no one who had anything to do with drafting this mess ever thought it was going to have anything to do with protecting patients or making healthcare affordable. If you understand reality all you need to know is that the federal government is planning to write a massive healthcare bill and you know that only disaster is to be expected. To expect otherwise is like expecting the Mississippi river to suddenly take a hard left turn and proceed to Bangor, Maine. Government action will make healthcare affordable when first class mail is delivered by flying pigs and Cuba is covered by a mile of ice.
