The alleged “BYU Groper” Nathan Fletcher made a brief appearance in a Provo courtroom Monday afternoon. Fletcher has pleaded not guilty to two counts of class A misdemeanor sexual battery. His attorney told a judge Monday that they plan to file a motion to suppress certain evidence from begin presented to jurors at trial. A Dec. 22 date was set to argue on that motion. A five-day jury trial is also expected to be scheduled on that day.
During a September preliminary hearing in 4th District Court, 23-year-old Fetcher was identified as the jogger who allegedly assaulted two of 16 woman who reported attacks on and near campus earlier this year. Several of Fletcher’s former track teammates at Brigham Young University testified that they recognized his gait and his build in surveillance footage police showed to them.

Based on what this story tells us, if I were on the jury it would take me about 10 seconds to say “is THAT all they have?”, and vote not guilty.
Strange. It’d be nice if he was convicted on evidence. Good Lord, how’d you know? Ted Bundy was a nice looking kid. And, a monster.

The problem is you have a whole corrupt system designed to make an accusation and then railroad a suspect into prison. Guilt or innocence is not the issue. It’s all about egos and headlines.
