PRINCE Harry has vowed to fight Islamic State terrorists head on as an Apache helicopter pilot.
The prince – who flew the deadly choppers in Afghanistan – has volunteered to fight in Iraq if his regiment is sent there.
Harry, who is regarded as one of the Army’s top helicopter pilots, has told pals he wants to get back into the thick of the action.
A source close to the prince said: “Harry told us he will ask to go and fight in Iraq with his regiment if they are deployed.”
Defence chiefs are preparing to send up to eight Apache helicopter gunships to support beleaguered Iraqi forces in the war against Isis.

One colleague said: “Harry is itching to get back into combat.
“He really enjoyed the challenge of Afghanistan and felt that while he was on operations his life had real value.

This young man must be so frustrated being labeled a “royal” and unable to lead a normal life. Royalty is a silly anachronism.
His will to defend the homeland is admirable, but Prince Harry will be a trouble-magnet when deployed. Maybe the military can have enough discipline to keep his location quiet. If Harry finds a wife in the next few years, his War Goals may be completely revamped.
He is sure likable for a Monarchist, he should defect to Texas.

Harry flies an Apache! What can be more deadly than that? He could just as easily say nothing and taken the easy way out.

I do applaud the Prince's desire to serve with his Regiment. That is the hallmark of a comrade-in-arms!
Wonder if he could make it into the SAS. Then nobody would know where he’s deployed.
Harry sowed a lot of wild oats for a time not too many years ago. Seems that military service has forced him to grow up. It’s commendable because it looks to me like most royals serve just because they have to and can’t wait to get out so they can live it up. Harry takes his service seriously.
perhaps the Young Sir is just being a Royal Royal. And may Captain Wales continue to enjoy a well earned liberty call.

I am impressed too. There’s a real good documentary about him on Hulu, I think. There’s an interview with him in front of his helo, and an alarm sounds. He just takes off running.
I get the feeling he is frustrated by the media attention. Whether we think Royalty is a silly anachronism or not, that was the life he was, without a choice in the matter, born into. FWIU however, Harry is the real deal when it comes to being a soldier and acts like a regular block while on duty, and is much liked and admired and respected by the men he serves with.

I loved how he when he got the call to fly, he ripped off the mike and just left mid-interview to join his mates without saying a word. He also made it quite clear that “I never wanted you guys to be out here but that was the agreement that was made…”
With his brother William being the heir to the heir and now having a son with his wife Kate; the heir to the heir to the heir and now with Kate being pregnant again and expecting the “spare” to the heir to the heir to the heir, perhaps Harry isn’t under too much pressure to get married for now. At least I hope that is the case. England needs more good men like Harry.
He needs to start within the UK first - like we need to start in the US...clean out house before marching back overseas...
