It’s more than awareness or caring. From a cold hard economic perspective if you want people to do less of something you have to raise the cost. If the potential cost of the crime is a tall tree and a short rope; the folks considering might reconsider.
A society based on discipline and respect would have less incidents of rape.
Many people grow up these days with no real ‘family’. They don’t learn discipline or respect.
