It's Official (He's Running) Dr. Ben Carson Just Made a Major Announcement

Dr. Ben Carson, the famous neurosurgeon and conservative super star, has made a major announcement: HE IS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT!

Officially, Carson – who just became a Republican after spending years as an Independent – is ready to challenge the policies of President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. And it all begins with a 40-minute long television special he is sponsoring to introduce himself:

The documentary titled “A Breath of Fresh Air: A New Prescription for America” will air in 22 states and Washington, DC. The paid video will detail some of his biography and family life, including his rise from being born to a single mother with a poor childhood in Detroit to director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins for almost 40 years, known for his work separating conjoined twins, to potential 2016 presidential candidate.

Carson first became a conservative star when last year he created a buzz at the National Prayer Breakfast when in front of an audience that included President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden spoke out about political correctness, health care and taxes.

He also called for a private health care savings plan and a flat tax in a speech that went viral and led to an editorial in the Wall Street Journal titled Ben Carson for President. He is known as a fierce opponent of the president’s health care law known as Obamacare.

I'm sorry! I like Ben Carson, but, after Barack Hussein Obama, it will be a long, long time before America will vote for another Black man for President.

Who is Ben Carson?

Tim Scott has a better shot.

Another vanity run, the ego of going from a little celebrity to wanting to become President of the United States.

I think you’re right. On the other hand, Carson is a likeable guy and might overcome this.

I’m sorry to hear this. He’s too good for politics. This will be a disaster.

I totally disagree. Americans dislike Obama a lot less than they would a white POTUS with his record.

If Carson got the nomination, he would do great with Conservatives and bring some minorities who normally vote Democrat over, without trying to pander to them.

I like Ben Carson. He seems like a good moral man. I refuse to bad mouth a man that is on our side with a couple exceptions. Is he ready for President? He is far more so than Obama was, but I believe he could also get a good gig in any administration we might come up with.

If by some miracle he wins the nomination I will seriously consider leaving my day job to work on his campaign. He’d be far, far better than any Democrat. But he’s gonna need to prove himself by getting the nomination.

Personally I think he should start with running for the Senate first.

He is an absolutely fantastic neurosurgeon, but probably not much presidential ability. Too nice a person.

I am always leery of any political candidate whose first race for public office is POTUS.

People voted for Obama BECAUSE he was black, period.

Carson is a man of substance & conviction. I think people will listen.

Just my two cents.

>>>Yea, he was especially squeamish on the 2A but “came around”.<<<

I am rabidly pro 2A, but I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on that, until he shows otherwise.

I get the idea that Carson wasn’t a guy who gave guns and gun rights a lot of thought in his role a surgeon and philanthropist. Because of this, he fell into the false “common sense” of thinking “some guns should be allowed in some places but not others”.

I think he has a better understanding of the importance of the 2nd Amendment now. If he waffles again, I will write him off, but until then, I’d support him. (though I’d like Ted Cruz even better).

Maybe, but at least people will see the huge difference between one who is a leftist and one who is conservative. That alone might get him elected. What he has to watch out for are the RINOs who will try to destroy him so they can insert their own RINO candidate - Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Marco Rubio, we CANT let that happen because without question Democraps will once again take the WH.

He doesn’t have enough experience as an office holder (even less than Voting-Present Obama) and I think he knows this. He’s trying to encourage someone else or get another player into the game. Which we desperately need, since the GOP presidential nomination has been taken over by the liberal geezer contingent.
