Who was that Cruz hater? Someone from National Review? It is good to get these guys names , so that we know who they are and where they are coming from.

Mitch forged an alliance with Rand Paul in order to retain his Senate seat.

Senator Paul forged an alliance with Senator McConnell in order to curry favor with the future Senate majority leader.

What Rand doesn’t realize is that Mitch will be using him to splinter the base and make it easier for an establishment type to be the Party’s nominee.

IMO.

The Ron Paul Revolution machine isn’t dead, it’s just been very, very quiet. But Cruz’ base should be much larger by the time the primaries roll around.

Well he is. A severe conservative in The Romney mold. His conservatism closely matches Mitt’s.

Severe.

BTW, in celebration of the election, the GOP has increased your chocolate ration from 20 to 10 grams.

This was the deal behind Rand’s puzzling endorsement before the primary—back Mitch for Senate, and Mitch will back Rand for Prez.

...but an outright endorsement this early on is unexpected. Krispy and Jeb are NOT happy.

This was about the leadership vote Monday, not the Presidency.

Oh, yeah! I realized this and was why I mentioned things are heating up.

Me myself and I are not even anticipating 2016 at all. It either gets done NOW, starting with this past Wednesday morning, or it will not happen ever and the GOPe might as well be cremated.

That’s pretty ridiculous. Paul introduced several border-security measures in the Senate last year and voted against the Gang of 8 bill.

Cruz’amnesty plan to hand out millions of green cards to illegals is virtually the same as Paul’s position.

Like I just posted somewhere, I’m not looking to 2016. It won’t matter if it (a significent change in the direction of Congress) doesn’t get done NOW.

I think the political action is aimed at next week’s vote for Senate Majority Leader. McConnell looking to divide any Cruz/Paul sentiment before the vote.

Patience, if anything the GOPE has shown they have the loyalty of a rattlesnake. Paul will not fair any better with the trash that is the GOPE.

That is the way I see it too.

Rand Paul is a better candidate on the stump than Mitt, Jeb, Santorum, and even Christy.

However Senators seldom win presidency.
Goldwater, dole, McCain. were all sitting senators.

The last republican elected president as a sitting senator was Warren Harding in 1920.

Governors can lose also, for example Mitt Romney, but a senator is much less likely to win.

Rand Paul supports social justice, that is all you need to know to understand that the man is willing to say anything to win San election and cannot be trusted.

Most important issue to me is fiscal sanity. With $18,000,000,000,000 in official recorded debt, and many times more in unfunded liabilities in signed law, we are headed towards Niagara falls in a boat without paddle. Social justice will not matter when country goes bankrupt. Take a good look at Greece and Japan.

Aside from that, a governor has much better chance to win presidency and Rand Paul has no executive experience.

Yes he is, but he still is not a conservative and because of his policy positions of late, is not appropriate for POTUS.

But, the views of a candidate on the Social Issues will tell you just how solid he will be on his fiscal promises.

I want the full package. No half-measures.

Not always true. Take President Reagan for example. He was a good conservative on social issues. Yet during his 8 years, spending by federal government TRIPLED. He did not use his veto power enough to stop the democrat congress. It was the beginning of national debt explosion.

Next case...Bush-43. Pretty good on social issues! But he began another entitlement (prescription drugs) when the country was already burdened with Medicare, Medicaid, and 100 different forms of welfare benefits. Then he went along with big bank bailout. And increased spending by Dept. of Education. We just can’t afford anymore such morons regardless of how conservative on social issues.

Now the national debt is so high, Federal Reserve can’t even increase interest rates in line with inflation. Because the annual deficit will rocket up with interest payments on national debt. Printing money has never worked in every country where tried. Observe conditions in Japan. That is where we are headed. It will be the demise of this country. A bankrupt country can not defend anything.

I will support any candidate in 2016 who has the spine to cut federal spending. Because I look at long term.
