2500 years ago, the prophet Zechariah foresaw a day when Jerusalem would be the epicenter of world problems. G-d himself would make Jerusalem a "cup of trembling" for the world.

Zechariah 12:2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. 3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces , though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

The Bible also predicts in Psalms 83 that Jordan (Edom, Ammon, and Moab) would lead a coalition of nations (around Israel) in a surprise attack on the nation. The outcome will be disastrous for Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, and even Iraq with Damascus and Amman Jordan being destroyed. Parts of Egypt and Gaza are destroyed with many parts of Jordan being under Israeli Occupation.
