Pro-gun GOP recall winners fall; Colo. Senate, House control up for grabs (Video @ link)

DENVER — Though the GOP takeover swept across the nation on Tuesday, two pro-gun Republican recall winners who helped start the shift of power in Colorado before election season lost their seats in the state Senate Tuesday night, leaving control of that crucial chamber still up for grabs Wednesday morning.

If Democrats were to retain their majority in the state Senate, they would not only control that chamber, but the governor’s office, with FOX31 Denver calling that tight race in favor of John Hickenlooper Wednesday morning, and possibly the state House, as well.

However, many were surprised to see the race for the majority in the House, where Democrats once owned a large 37-28 advantage, still up for grabs Wednesday.

But with thousands of votes left to count in places like Jefferson County and Adams County — and with tight races remaining in those counties’ districts — the battle for the majority was yet to reach a definitive conclusion.

I don’t know. I’m still wondering why Beauprez lost when other Repubs in the state did so well.

100%

Colorado's system this year is so corrupt, I'm surprised the Pubbies even have a theoretical shot at the House and Senate. Which they won't get.

Sounds like they imported some jerks from New York!
(When we had the lever vote machines here, they loved disabling and locking the R side levers. Which is how we got Hillary as our senator in this state.)

Hopefully any game playing can be caught.
Whether it sees light of day...

Colorado is where Californians who hate the desert go when they are tired of living under the system they voted for.

Unfortunately, they still vote Democrat.

..why Beauprez lost..

Boulder and Denver Counties have already turned in their fraudulent votes. It matters little what the rest of the state does.

Colorado election laws were written to elect Democrats forever. A 4% margin of fraud is baked into the system.

Once in a while the Democrats get careless and a few Republicans sneak into the legislature.

All that really happened in liberal CO then is that some Democratic voters had a dislike for Udall.

Same reason Wolf (D) won the Gov in Pa over the incumbent Corbett (R)

Why is that? Repubs not voting?

Tancredo was just on Boyles’ program here and said 120,000 more Repubs voted than Dems in CO this year. I don’t get it.

I wish I knew ... there's been NOTHING regarding fraud because the spread is so wide.

The theories are pretty much ... because Corbett raised the gasoline tax 27 cents and his involvement with Joe Paterno / Sandusky child abuse case.

Both are democrat resume' enhancements, so I find it hard to believe.

This is being covered all wrong. The gun grabbers were tossed out, but that didn’t mean the democrat strongholds wanted a Republican, they just wanted more moderate democrats. The gun grabbers over reached, that doesn’t mean the Republicans win, they both lose. If “none of the above” was on the ballot, it would have won in a landslide. The real story is how neither party represents real values that are in harmony with how people really live and provide them with the opportunity of a hopeful future.

Yeah, I’ve heard the gasoline tax mentioned a couple of times in reference to Corbett in PA.

You could have run Tancredo.

But i was lectured that Beauprez was electable, and not Tancredo.

Guess having Mr. Fuzzy Nice Guy didnt make much of a choice, did it?
