Unfortunately elected Republicans always want to show they are nice people and won’t use the same tactics that the dims use. What is really irritating about this is that it is the only way to get them to play fair; they squeal like pigs when their tactics are used against them.
The dilemma is that 'Rats are perennially trying to tear down the Republic and pubs trying to repair the damage.
If it was summer time at the beach, repubs would be building the sand castles, and 'Rats would be jumping on it and demolishing it.
I heard PA Senator Pat Toomey today on local radio basically saying precisely that. He was asked if they would keep the nuclear option rules and he said "well I think we need to show that we're better .... blah blah blah." They will reverse Reid's destructive rule change and predictably, he will bludgeon them with it.
