Yeah, I hate that Dirtbin won, but the IL GOP needs to fins someone other than Oberweis, who is becoming a Perennial Candidate no matter how many zeros he can write on a check.

I’m in IL-17, probably the worst example of gerrymandering in the nation, constructed at Durbin’s specific request (demand) linking a wide swath of rural IL with the most Democrat areas of Rockford, Peoria, and the Quad Cities so that Cheri Bustos could win it. Bobby Schilling is a good man and ran a good race, but he got trounced by the demographics. It’s time for the IL GOP to realize we need to fight fire with fire and nurture some young black, Hispanic, or female conservatives to take Bustos out in two years.

Doug Truax would have been a nice alterative to Oberweis...

I live in IL-17 also. This morning I heard from a pretty reliable (?) source that Quinn's defeat yesterday is really messing up the plan that the Dems had for Illinois and the U.S. senate.

Supposedly, Turbin/Durbin is going to be selected by 0 for an appointment to some Exec-branch position as a payback for Durbin's bootlicking during the past six years. This will leave his seat open and give the Governor the opportunity to fill it by appointment. Cheri Bustos, who is Durbins goddaughter was mentioned as a potential appointee, but I don't think that will happen-she just doesn't seem to be up to that position. Interesting in that it follows the IL-17 playbook of handing these seats down like family heirlooms.

Anyway, Quinn getting his azz handed to him yesterday may really be upsetting the democrat apple cart.
