At my polling place, unemployed, unkept-looking, white women were pushing into the line and complaining loudly about their lot in life and how awful Republicans are in North Carolina. Seemed like a planned thing. Main gripe? They could no longer vote a “straight Democratic ticket” in NC; they had to trouble themselves to vote for each candidate individually.
I thought that might delay things, but things went as fast as ever at ny precinct.
The party affiliation of the candidates is still displayed on the ballot, but if you're getting off the couch to go vote Demcocrat, it might be too much of a hassle.
