Exactly. She doesn't label the sexual molestation of her sister as something she now profoundly regrets. She apparently considers it to be just another proof of the delightful precocity of the brilliant and charming Lena.
That's one sick woman. How can her career survive this?

I identify with those comments. I feel them as you do.
I also recognize that people can get really confused with identities when they are victims of abuse. They are exposed to the “if it feels good do it” attitude and that becomes their reference.
This is the real tragedy of homosexuality to me. It has opened up pandora’s box, so that any unconventional thing is seen as merely a different track of perfection. No, whatever veers from the original model, is not perfection.
Not trying to be argumentative, because I do agree with your comments. It just that even adults can be confused in this day and age with moral relativism and the anything goes attitudes on display.
I don’t think her career will survive this at all; NO ONE survives molestation charges and everyone loathes Polanski, no matter what the Hollywood idiots say. Lena has been annoying the non-hipsters as it is and now even the hipsters will be finished with her.
She isn’t doing this to her sister ‘’as a sexual predator does’ she’s doing as a predator DOES. Not “as a predator,” but IS a predator. Those who bought her book will be discreetly throwing them out. Her bragging about messing with herself while her sister is in bed with her will destroy her.
I agree, she’s done. HBO had already signed up another season of her show. It’ll be the last.
Thing is, even if this were some kind of DEMENTED posturing, she would still be toast, as she is now.
From here on out, she’s done for and I am glad of it. I heard of her, I heard of her ‘art’ and I read an asinine article about her in Rolling Stone and I was struck at how she was lauded as the Second Coming of 60’s enlightenment.
One thing that will kill your career quick in Hollywood is messing with kids. Michael Jackson NEVER recovered from all of the accusations and neither will Dunham. I cannot imagine how the people who read her book are feeling right now, reading that vomit inducing tripe.
