U.S. Sen. Al Franken says the widow of the first American to die from Ebola will get survivor benefits.
Franken says the Social Security Administration notified him Monday that the benefits were approved for Decontee Sawyer of Coon Rapids.

If he paid into Social Security, was a citizen, is dead, and leaves behind minor children, the kids get the payments. That’s the way it has always worked. Nothing new here. Finally, Franken has done a good deed.
Some are more equal than others.
The thing is SS needs the death certificate which hasn’t come through. Al Baby pushed her benefits through before the paperwork was done. Would he have done the same good deed for a crazy assed cracker? No.
The Social Security Administration is nothing if not terribly slow in it’s decision making. Perhaps this is a category that doesn’t take as long to determine as others, but these sorts of thing take a good six months or more to determine. If this lady has already been notified, it’s somewhat of a miracle.

Whatever his motive, I am glad she is getting benefits with those 3 young girls.
Oh, so am I. But timing is everything.
These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:
1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics. Funny how that works.
And here’s another one worth considering...
2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What’s interesting is the first group “worked for” their money, but the second didn’t. Think about it.....
and Last but not least,
3. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping
the payments or benefits to illegal aliens.

He never paid a dime into Social Security and used up half a million dollars of healthcare funds. They should get nothing.

Patrick Sawyer was the guy who introduced ebola into Nigeria, running around infecting people, with at least a dozen dead because of him.
