Celebrities are less likely to vote in midterm elections, just like us!
Rock The Vote released a public service announcement last month with a parody of Lil Jon's "Turn Down For What" that featured public figures who explained why they planned to vote in the midterm elections, but according to public records, a number of them didn't vote in the last midterm election.
At least five who appeared in the PSA "Girls" actress Lena Dunham, comedian Whoopi Goldberg, "Orange is the New Black" actress Natasha Lyonne, "Rich Kids of Beverly Hills" star E.J. Johnson, and actor Darren Criss did not vote in the last midterm, records from Los Angeles County and New York City show.
The Washington Post was unable to locate voting records for six others who appeared in the PSA, including Lil Jon.
Rock The Vote makes sure its spokespeople are registered, but does not confirm whether they have voted in past elections.
"Rock The Vote's approach is forward-looking," said Audrey Gelman, a spokeswoman for the group, in an e-mail to The Washington Post. "The talent who participate in our campaigns are registered to vote and have pledged to turn out this Tuesday and in upcoming elections. We believe individuals who have missed opportunities to vote in the past should not be disqualified from committing to participate in the political process in the future, and helping spread a positive message of civic engagement."

Wow. It’s so cool to vote that these Hollywood idiots telling young kids to vote, don’t even vote themselves. Interesting...........
It’s not interesting at all. Hollywood does whatever it gets paid for.
Someone paid them to make the videos, so they did.
For us conservatives, it’s nice to see the Washington Post slam members of its own lib team.
But I gotta wonder why the WaPo did this. I don’t see their angle on this one.
Good!
“But I gotta wonder why the WaPo did this. I dont see their angle on this one.”
It’s to shame young libs into voting.

It generally works that way with celebrity charities as well. Their celebrity endorsement is often the limit of their contribution. Meanwhile they get free PR exposure.
They just did the spots to be ‘cool’ and hipster and try to make their fans think that they can say big words like ‘election’. “look, see how much I care?”
In reality, when it was over they went right back inside their hollywood bubble and did some more cocaine.
Its the same with their environment crap.
They tell their fans that they are destroying the earth while they live extravagantly, sailing their yachts and flying their private jets.
Oh and “respect yourself and don’t do drugs” says the singer posting naked selfies while high on cocaine.
Someone should ask Whoopi who her State Senator is.
The reaction should be good for a load of laughs!
If it weren’t for the political analysis of Lil’ Jon and the penetrating foreign diplomatic experience of Lady Gaga I wouldn’t know who to vote for. If you can’t depend on Snoop Dogg for your moral compass, who can you depend on?
That’s one piece of good news...

Also, there are often "gifts" for their endorsements. There was an "investigation" a few years back that these "gifts" violated IRS rules.
Jewelry for endorsements, free airline trips, etc.
Probably swept under free carpets they could get just for the asking.
