Officials said the patient left Liberia and arrived at Newark Liberty International Airport on Friday, which is one of five airports screening people for illnesses linked to Ebola.
The patient had no symptoms upon arrival in the United States.
The patient arrived in Person County on Saturday and developed a fever on Sunday. The person was then transferred to Duke University Hospital.

Does that mean Duke University Hospital in NC? That would seem odd. I thought there was a designated hospital in or near Newark.
there is “no abundance of caution when American citizens lives are at stake” anyone who gets ebola here is just what OBAMA calls “bumps in the road”
Yet more proof that the vaunted “airport screenings” are pretty much useless. Both Mr. Duncan and Dr. Spencer were afebrile and asymptomatic when they stepped off the planes in the US.
Yes Duke University in North Carolina.
I thought that was odd too?
Yes, in NC. Person County is in NC also. Fairly rural, Virginia border county just west of I-85. Roxboro is the only town of any size at all.
Supposedly took the bus to North Carolina where developed symptoms.
WHO bought this African’s plane ticket ? the SLIMEBALL MEDIA doesn’t care
Geez, this just gets worse and worse. Yet another Ebola patient taking public transportation hours before developing symptoms. Are they going to contact trace everybody she came in contact with?
More details: DHHS said the patient arrived in Person County Saturday after flying from Liberia to Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. The individual then traveled from New Jersey to Durham County on a public bus, and a family member transported them to Person County, DHHS Sec. Aldona Wos said. http://www.wncn.com/story/27188544/patient-at-duke-hospital-being-monitored-for-ebola-dhhs-says
I wonder about that too. Duncan apparently did not own a pot to p*ss in or a window to throw it of but all of a sudden he quits his job and buys a plane ticket to the USA?
Duncan apparently had family and friends here. I imagine money was sent to him in Liberia so he could come here.
It is probably just malaria or something benign like that like the 30 or 40 other false alarms from "travelers" from West Africa we have had in the past month or so. I forgot how many. We've lost count.
Anyway, nothing to see here folks. Just move along... at least until after the elections. The Ebola Czar has things well in hand. What could possibly go wrong?
More public ground transportation, it’s just weird how they all seem to use it.
LOL... Exactly!
if anyone originates from any country on the list... they must land in Guantanamo and stay there for 21-60 days. during that time, they should receive shelter, food, internet, entertainment (tv), and medical checks before being allowed to continue into the US.
it’s really not that complicated.
unless you’re a democrat hellbent on destroying the country... then it’s counter to your plans
One of the early articles on Duncan indicated that his ticket was purchased on a corporate credit card - round trip ticket. The name was not the same company he quit, but I guess it could have been an associated company. I don’t remember any of the names.
Soon the leftist will be organizing 10K Ebola runs and others events to ensure the civil rights of those infected are not infringed.
This is far more likely to be Malaria, which is widespread in Liberia. If it is Ebola, we don’t have to worry - I have it on the best authority (the Obama Administration) that hemorrhagic fevers cannot be spread on a bus.
From a Liberian perspective, this is a good deal though. If someone will pay for your ticket to the USA, you can get free medical care courtesy of the US taxpayer and the community-organizer-in-chief in the White House. As soon as you start to get symptoms, pop some Tylenol (to hide your symptoms) and hop on a plane to the land of free Obama phones and Obola care.
