We confess that we fill ourselves with the wrong “stuff.” We now live in a world where there is instant access to people and to information, and we marvel at all we are able to do with our technology. And yet, we have had the opportunity throughout all our lives to call upon You, to receive answers, to acquire Your wisdom and understanding, and to find Your direction. We need no phones nor computers to reach You. When we earnestly call to You, You answer us, and You show us great and mighty things which we did not know. How simple and convenient can it be for us to speak to the God Who created the universe and Who made us? Lord, we are truly blessed to know You and trust in You. We who believe in You and in the truth of Your Word are made priests and kings through Your grace.
We cry out to You, Lord, on behalf of our country. Father, we have turned away from the founding documents of our nation---those fundamental beliefs that were guided by You and established in Your truth. And now we find ourselves in the grasp of an evil force that seeks to remove our natural law of freedom from us. Help us, Lord God, for our freedom and liberty are ordained by You. Hear our cries for deliverance. Help us to repent from any ways that we have joined in the rebellion against Your truths. Return us to Your arms, Father, and hide us in the shadow of Your wings.
Lord, we commend our military men and women to You for Your protection, Your sustenance, Your encouragement, and Your strength. They need You every hour, just as we all do, but many of them walk in great danger. We ask You to be their shield and buckler. When they are ready to come home, Father, please ease their transition back to civilian life. Keep them strong and alert against all the lies of the enemy, that their mental, emotional, and physical health may be strong and sure. We pray also for the persecuted Church everywhere, but especially in Israel and Northern Iraq. Lord, please be their Strength every minute of the day.
Lord, help us to elect righteous men and women to office on Tuesday. Let no votes count that have been cast fraudulently. Help us to seek You with all our hearts and be willing to pursue Your Will upon this earth as it is in heaven. Give us the desire to host Your presence here upon this earth as ambassadors of Christ Who died for us. Thank You for so great a love---so great a gift. In the powerful Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
