It was a classified operation which means participants can not confirm or deny details EVEN if elements of the story have been made public.
HOWEVER, the administration went to great lengths to publish extraordinary details FOR POLITICAL BENEFIT.
I’m guessing he’s been advised that the administration has forfeit it’s “classified” meme, especially if they lied.
To be clear, there is a difference between a “cover story” and an outright lie.
In a “cover story” all elements are nominally true, they are just not complete.
Including the ID of the Pakistani Dr. who confirmed Bin Laden was in the compound.
That Dr. now sits in a prison in Pakistan.
Shameful.
