After the TCU-WVU football game, I made the mistake of leaving the TV on, and the news (ABC 7 KGO in San Francisco) came on.
The lead story was on a capsizing of a sport crab-fishing boat in the San Francisco Bay. (You can read about the actual story here.)
The TV report had testimonials from both a US Coast Guard captain, and an officer in the Bodega Bay Fire Department.
And, how did KGO ABC-7 "News" decide to label them on-screen? By using the flag of the mass-murdering, beheading, crucifying ISIS terrorist group. Witness the pictures below.
Apparently the station is overdue for a “workplace accident”.
I wish only the worst for all this tv stations employees, their families and all that watch thi channel.......but of course this is just an oversite.
Wow! Sloppy editing but very bad visuals. I’d be angry if I was a rescuer.
Affirmative action control room employee....
KGO TV in SF used ISIS logo for USCG on tonight's local news
***Apparently the station is overdue for a workplace accident.***
Like a bird attack on Bodega Bay? (subtle reference to a Hitchcock film)
Because someone wasn't paying attention. Probably they had an ISIS story set to go during that slot, and moved it due to breaking news, and someone didn't change the graphic. I've heard radio stations that ran two different news feeds at the same time for 5 minutes. People just screwing around and not watching or listening to what is going out.
It’s impossible that they got that from google for this story. “coast guard logo” is simply too easy to get right. They must already have a bunch of logos already in a local folder and clicked on the wrong one.
In all seriousness, I am certain that most of the work done these days in TV news is done by people with little experience, at best average intelligence, and far less attention span and ability to manage details than there used to be.
Dag nabbit they have a college football game on now. Next local news isn’t until 11 PM. If I remember and am still awake I’ll watch it to see if they run the same story again.
Weekend TV/radio crews get all the rookies/”newbs”! That said, pay attention, use your brain and get with it!
Although I dunno...some o' them Coasties, I dunno...

Has it really been that long?
Living in a internet world has many advantages unthought of even 20 years ago....access to unbelievably amount of news, information, basically at our fingertips....
This is one of the downsides....obviously someone made an error....a pretty dumb one....
People will read into this and made it something it’s not....
I fully expect to see this story pop up on several of the Feeds I get from so called conservative news sites.... Pimping some stupid conspiracy theory...

No conspiracy theory, but proof that our education system is a complete failure as we pursue self and money...
