Jenny Sanford, Ginny Deerin discuss "Mark"

COLUMBIA - Former South Carolina First Lady Jenny Sanford joined Democratic Secretary of State candidate Ginny Deerin in an online campaign video where she "opens up" about "Mark."

The two spend just over 30 seconds discussing the work ethics of "Mark," before Deerin asks about how he's "so awkward with that online technology."

After a scripted pause, Sanford clarifies she's not talking about her ex-husband, U.S. Rep. and Former Gov. Mark Sanford, but of Mark Hammond, the Republican incumbent Secretary of State. Hammond is seeking his fourth term in office.

"I think it's time for an update in that office too," Jenny Sanford says in the video. "I'm a conservative. I'm a Republican and on Tuesday, I'm voting for Ginny Deerin for Secretary of State."

Deerin, a Charleston Democrat making her first run for office, has been critical of Hammond's decision to commute from his home in Spartanburg instead of living in Columbia. She has received the backing of the Libertarian Party and of the conservative group Club for Growth because of her platform.

Most recently, she sued Hammond's office for what she called a failure to satisfy a records request she filed through the Freedom of Information Act on July 21. She also ended on Monday a 90-mile bicycle ride from Spartanburg to Columbia to raise attention to her campaign and what she called a "Cycle of Waste" in Hammond's office. Hammond has defended his office's efficiency and says many voters like his decision to keep his residence in the Upstate.

Well, I won't spend any more time shedding tears for Jenny Sanford. It turns out that she's not the "soulmate" of Republicans, either!

I do not know her personally. Yet what I've seen of her and her actions in recent years doesn't sound very South Carolina conservative at all.

I have lived in SC for 31 years and Mark Sanford was my Congressman for years.. I’m not defending a lot of his actions in the past but now people can see why he couldn’t live with that woman anymore.. it was well known she was a b**** from way back

Yeah, to screw your ex-husband, you think it’s o.k. to screw your country!

People tend to mate with the partners they deserve, but the kids did not deserve what happened to them. I’ll take her over him any day of the week.

Clearly.

And now’s she’s a whole hog traitor. Endorsing a rat for Sec of State is like endorsing a pedophile for Sunday school teacher. The primary duty of every rat Sec of State is to help illegals vote for their party and otherwise steal elections.
