Plurality of Republicans think Mitt Romney should run for president
HotAir ^ | October 29, 2014

Is it relevant that his favorable rating among the general public is 36/47? Or that 58 percent think he doesn’t care about their problems versus just 42 percent who think he does? Or that 52 percent believe he’d lose again to Hillary, with a mere 24 percent confident in Romney victory?

Seventy-two percent of Republicans say he’s qualified to be president while independents split 49/30 in favor of those who agree. And yet, he trails Hillary 43/32 in a hypothetical 2016 match-up, with fully 13 percent saying they wouldn’t vote if given that choice. Sounds like just the sort of effervescent, galvanizing candidacy the GOP needs. Look on the bright side, though: There can’t possibly be more people willing to boycott a Clinton/Romney election than there are willing to boycott another Clinton/Bush election. Shucks, I’ll be boycotting that one myself.

I want to say that the GOP primary electorate can't be this stupid, but it was only two years ago Romney received more than ten million votes, over 52% of all votes cast nationally, in the Republican presidential primary.

Age 63, active in politics for a couple of decades. I think this signals the end for me. Yeah, I’ll pull the lever, but life presents many arenas & battlefields, and I am about ready to walk from the political one.

Queue Eric Cartman’s alien anal probe scene. This can’t be happening. It’s like a never ending national bad acid trip.

When are we going to wake up to nurse Ratched telling us to take our thorazine?

Take all “polls” and articles on the 2016 Republican nomination race with A LARGE GRAIN OF SALT. These articles and polls are structured and planned to push certain (RINO) candidates and discourage supporters of true conservatives such as Ted Cruz.

DO NOT ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE DISCOURAGED!

I’ll vote Romney if I am forced to, because it is important to get a capitalist in the WH and the DEMS out, a conservative if possible. There are great types out there like Reagan/Jefferson, but I don’t think they will run. We’re gonna get forced to eat another BIG S#$% sandwich, but at least it isn’t an EBOLA sandwich.

“...because it is important to get a capitalist”

It is equally imperative that we get someone who is anti-amnesty and pro-second amendment. Those are two issues that define this country, and will either ensure its survival or its downfall. The world doesn’t need another UK and all the problems that it would entail.

Romney got almost 60% of the white vote in 2012.

He lost by just 3.9% of the popular vote, even though record numbers of Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians voted for Obama.

What other Republicans can get more than 60% of the white vote against Hillary?

What is the GOP to strategy to get non-white votes - imitate Hillary?

I agree. I realized that we must be united to save America. Not one American should force anything on another. America has always been a force for good because of that one reason. If you’re gay, liberal, christian, conservative, muslim.....whatever. I will love you as an American, as long as you do not force your opinions down my throat or make me do anything I don’t believe in, disagree with me, and move on. Progress can still be made, it isn’t right to belittle any American because of exercising their right to think. That is what America is. We need to be united. Not divided.

We are committing national suicide. Both sides. Because of our biases of right and wrong. We lost the idea that that’s what makes America great. It’s not right and left. It’s right and wrong to force something on anyone.

I wouldn’t mind so much if there were a real conservative as running mate, like Sen. Cruz.

Nope. Americans will redouble their efforts to ensure he never sees the inside of the WH. You on the other hand can pound salt with your romneybot fantasies.
