Hey -- take it easy on West Virginia! I have a recently divorced friend from Bloody Matewan who was relieved to find that he and his ex were still legally cousins! Living the dream in the Free State of McDowell !

Some parts of New York State are more into this than others.
I can think of one community where 30 or 40 percent of the families have the same last name.

West Virginia doesn’t allow cousins to marry.
Never has.
