GOP's John Cornyn Eyes Immigration Reform 'After We Get Majority'
Newsmax ^ | 10/28/14 | Jennifer G. Hickey

During a debate with Democratic challenger David Alameel, Texas Sen. John Cornyn said it is time to reach a "consensus" on immigration reform by "finding parts that we agree on," including providing children of illegal immigrants access to education.

"I believe education is the way out," the Republican said.

He added that the children of parents "who did not comply with our immigration laws are guilty of nothing," and "it makes no sense to condemn them to a minimum-wage job for the rest of their lives when they could produce so much more, when they could be so much more. They would benefit, their families would benefit, and our nation would benefit."

The debate, hosted by KUVN and Univision 23, was little more than a formality as the latest CBS News/YouGov poll finds Cornyn with a 57 percent to 35 percent lead over Alameel.

The debate marked the latest in a series of comments and remarks that indicate Cornyn's positions on some aspects of immigration reform are softening.

"We have a broken immigration system and I am one who would like to fix it.

The Founding Fathers would have had little patience
with such treachery, antiAmerican behavior, and
enablement of treason.

Where is Gen. Washington when America really needs him?

The Republicans have made it very clear that they are only too happy to pass the Obama agenda if they win the Senate. So that will just give the Obama administration BI-PARTISAN COVER for the next two years leading up to the 2016 presidential elections.

Moreover, a Republican Senate victory will prove to the big goverment loving RINOcrats that they don't need the conservative base, on whom they have declared outright WAR, so you can forget about them becoming more conservative anytime soon -- not that we have any more time to wait.

You think it's crazy to say that Republicans intend to pass the Democrat agenda? Consider that:

The Republican leadership is lowering expectations about what they'll do if they take the Senate in 2014.

John McCain is already promising to restore the filibuster and promising to expedite approval of Obama's nominees “I will work very hard to go back to 60 votes,” said Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who boldly predicts a Republican Senate would process Obama’s nominees “more rapidly than [Democrats] do today.”

And as for the House: John Boehner: ‘Very Few’ Republicans Will Oppose Me

Oh, and best of all, now Republicans are promising that a Senate takeover will increase the odds of passing immigration reform. Republicans: Immigration reform is more likely to happen if we take the Senate

Well at least the Republicans will repeal Obamacare. Oh wait, they won't.

The only SLIM chance we have to save our country at this point is to demonstrate beyond a doubt that the GOPs "moderate" agenda is doomed to fail at the polls.

Only then will we have a chance of having a true conservative Presidential nominee in 2016, and the utter collapse of Democrat credibility after two more years of their control of the Senate.

It is terrible to consider two more years of Democrat Senate Control, but no less terrible to consider the result of GOPe control.

I have been afraid of this. The Republicans win and go the WRONG direction.

Anything that isn’t preceded by, “first thing is to close the border” is worthless.

1. Secure the borders with a double-fence.
2. Convert all government space along the border to a military exercise area.
3. Begin the process of deportation of illegals.
4. Severely penalize businesses, individuals and government agencies who aid and abet illegal aliens in any manner.
5. Reassert American control over all parts of National Refuges currently under occupation by drug cartels.

There’s your fecking “immigration reform,” Cornyn. Got it???

That is why I will not be voting for the VA Senate Race. Ed Gillespie is about as GOPe as they come and I know 100% he will join Cornyn, McCain and Mini-Me.

"finding parts that we agree on," including providing children of illegal immigrants access to education.

He must be talking about providing each illegal "child" a full college scholarship, because I'm pretty sure millions of illegal kids are breaking the public school system right now.

Conservatives have known this all along about this person, McConnell and others who are going to defy the will of the American People in order to appease their masters in the US Chamber of Commerce.

So it is not surprising.

And I have asked certain Freepers countless times what they plan to do when McConnell and Company take control. The response has been “we’ll hound them daily and let them know to listen to conservatives”. I am sorry but that doesn’t cut it.

There is Executive Amnesty which there is a means to stop through federal courts by obtaining a Preliminary Injunction.

Then there is Legislative Amnesty that we can only stop via the House of Representatives. But Boehner has complete power to allow or stop Legislative Amnesty.

Therefore, Boehner is the key and Conservatives in Congress must get control of Boehner or it’s game over for the USA.

One again, the GOP is the government.

1/2 of the government is not on our side, and it is not our friend.

They are all our enemy.

And the Republicans wonder why we conservatives regard them with only slightly less loathing than we do the dim-bulb-crats.

Earth to repubs: Start spending OUR money for OUR citizens.

Keep this up and you’ll be part of the enemy when the inevitable CW-II starts.

I have been using this EXACT SAME ANALOGY for years!

It is simply BS! If you are not supposed to be here or have the money or the stolen TV or whatever then it should be set back to what is right and normal!

Send these young adults to their home country! PERIOD!!!

Hell, they have a better chance of becoming citizens from their home country than by staying here. They can easily pass ALL of the requirements such as speaking English, passing the citizenship test, etc...

There is NO good reason to allow these people to remain in America and become citizens EXCEPT if you are attempting to pander to them! Even worse, you are rewarding bad behavior which will surely increase that behavior!!

The Republican leadership is lowering expectations about what they'll do if they take the Senate in 2014.

This makes me so sick. They know we're voting against Obama and his cronies because we hate what they are doing to our country, and the GOP is our only legitimate option right now. So they can pull this crap, even before the election is over, because they know conservatives have no alternative but to vote for them.

Don't want the Dems racing the country to facism at 100 mph? Oh well, then you have to support the GOP -- sure, we're driving towards facism, too, but only at 50 mph.

I really am nearing the point where I cannot stomach having the people that I voted for do this to me and my country. I know that not voting for the GOP means I'll get facism faster and rougher, but getting screwed is still getting screwed, and I'd rather not lend my consent or support to the people screwing me.
