The woman called into C-Span during the time when Barack Obama was doing his early voting. She identified herself as Joyce and indicated that she is an 82-year old black grandmother who has been a Democrat her entire life, but voted straight down the Republican ticket this year. Her voice is filled with both anger and passion as she explains why she has left the Democrat Party.
It is worth listening to the entire two-minute segment. She begins by saying, “First, let me start by saying that I am an 82-year old, black, senior citizen grandmother and I voted straight Republican because I have been noticing for years what the Democrat party have done to my people.”

Funny how when a truly news worthy event happens...an 82 year old black women switching to republican... CSPAN just has to cut her off....really!!!
The woman on the screen was obviously angry - did you see her playing on her computer while the lady was speaking, then cut her off! Great rant!!!
I guess she wasn’t really black (sarcasm).
When she identified herself as an 82 year old black grandmother they thought she was going to toe the company line. When she spoke differently ..we have to take another call.
How progressive.
And inclusive of course.
She sounded well-spoken and not low-info—it took her until age 82 to discover that the rats support the murder of babies at any and all times?
I am surprised more blacks don’t seem to understand or care that the democrat party supports killing black children in the womb...genocidal levels, yet nary a peep.
I dunno. I am friends with a former pastor at a fairly large black church in Los Angeles. He was run out of the congregation for scandals, but that’s peripheral.
Each service was well attended, though mostly women and children. They talked about responsibility, parenting youth, teen pregnancy, and other ills facing the black community.
Plenty of hoots, hollers, and cheers from the animated, passionate congregation.
This was followed by crimes, shootings, pregnant teens, etc the following week.
Repeat.
I think that there needs to be serious changes in the community. I don’t think the community has what it takes.
Her producer was probably IM-ing her telling her to cut the racist off.
