And the country is reverting back to 11 time zones.
The reason? Year-round summer time was unpopular in the north in the winter which meant an hour more of darkness that no one liked.
It remains to be seen if in fact this is the last time reform adopted by Russia.
Daylight Savings Time is a Capitalist plot, Comrade.
In Soviet Union, CLOCKS SET YOU!
Daylight Savings Time is an asinine idea.
The only “reform” that is needed is to give it the axe.
Wish we could get rid of daylight savings.
“Time, time, time...see what’s become of me”
Just my opinion, but I could live without the time change, myself. Nature introduces it gradually, not like the bi-annual upheaval. Not the worst thing that could happen, of course, but I don’t prefer it.
Thanks.
So they’re turning the clocks back to 1875?
And, that is good enough for moi.
I say junk DST and let popular opinion prevail.
As far as Russian clocks?
My guess is that many just might be clunky, clumsy assemblages that could take some serious effort to re-set; and, that they are best left alone if they are nearly on-time.
.
It remains to be seen if they’ll go back to Soviet Union style command and control.
Wish we would go back to Standard Time and leave it there. This last adjustment leaving DST until November is just stupid.
Bravo for Russia. DST is stupid. Hope we follow soon.
I despise daylight savings time—especially now, when it’s as dark as midnight when I get up in the morning.
I understand that lobbying by the company that manufactures Kingsford barbecue charcoal was a major factor in expanding it from early March to beyond Halloween a few years ago—and that’s why I never buy their product.
I love Daylight Savings time. Only folks that don’t like it are the ones who go to the Early Bird specials. Once they get done they want to go to bed at 6pm but the sun’s still up.
Slackers.
DST=Annoying useless ritual that makes everyone's biological clock go a skew 2 times a year.
I don't mind so much turning the clocks back an hour, but, I HATE losing that hour in the spring-turns me into a grumbling grouch for almost a week. Don't see why we can't leave well enough alone.
Down with DST. With our various latitudes and working conditions, we could best adjust our own activities to clocks fixed at the same time throughout the year. DST is a disruption twice a year and yet another inhibitor against new, domestic production competition. As for production, it should be more distributed, community-based and far less centralized, and it will be, one way or another.
I hate daylight savings time.
