New York Democratic House candidate Martha Robertson drew groans from the audience of the debate between her and Republican Rep. Tom Reed after she accused Reed of being part of the war on women.
Tom Reed, youre part of the war against women, Robertson said, to immediate groans and laughter.
Please, everybody, please, the moderator said, trying to quiet the murmuring.
Reed, for his part, slammed what he called political rhetoric at its worst. I have eight older sisters. I had a single mother. What I am trying to do is, I will stand for women.
To engage in the rhetoric of the war on women, to me, that is offensive and its just not accurate, he concluded, to applause.
Earlier in the month, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced that it was canceling a planned $465,000 ad buy on Robertsons behalf. Despite being pegged as a competitive race early on, observers have largely agreed that Robertsons campaign has flopped, and RealClearPolitics now has the race marked Likely Republican.

Democrats have a lynch mob mentality. They always have.
The old “War on Women” routine doesn’t seem to be working for the commie libs this year.
I mean look, it's nice but it's not the opening shot of some sort of revolution.
I never understood the war on women business.
It is so condescending to women, to imply that the only issues they care about revolve around who pays for birth control.
It is patently offensive to assume that all women are in favor of abortion on demand, and that those opposed to abortion on demand are in a war on women for that reason.
It is condescending to women to think that women based their votes only on issues revolving around reproduction.
If we want to talk about contraceptive policies, fine, let’s discuss. But it’s so absurd to say it’s a war against women if you have a certain opinion on contraceptive policy.
I do think that the whole ‘war on women’ thing is stating to fizzle out. Something like that may have some traction for a while, but eventually, rational people think about it and realize that it makes no sense. And besides, how can you claim that Republicans are waging a war on women while always supporting Muslims (in every possible setting). I mean, it’s not a war on women waged by Islam, it is more like a Holocaust.
This woman is dumb as dirt. She doesn’t have an original thought in her head. Her entire campaign is nothing but DNC buzz words and cliches. I can’t fathom how anyone could vote for her. Where the hell do they find these people?
They don’t want people who can think independently in the congress. They want robots who will vote how they’re are told.

She looks like the typical egghead communist idiot.
She acts like one too.
There is no shortage of these people, but what I fail to understand is why the Right doesn’t start calling these people out for what they are
Dangerous evil baby killing sex perverts and communist thieves.
I’d say that was due to the majority who were thinking it were too nervous to do it or follow rules of the debate. Had I been there I’d have laughed as well. Not everyone is as boisterous though.
I watched the video. The Pubbie incumbent came back with a reply that destroyed her Democrat talking points. “The War on Women” crap backfired, bit-time, on the liberal b**ch.
