A leftist gobsh!te once told me he absolutely supports the freedom to express ideas -- but religion (among other "rightwing constructs") doesn't qualify as an idea and therefore should garner no protection.
He was completely sincere. The way these people rationalize their own totalitarian leanings is frightening.
