Christie must have been in a sugar coma the first weeks of October, when the WH and CDC kept contradicting each other and playing keystone cops with information.

I didn’t see any quotes from Christie regarding the WH and Ebola. The title of this thread is misleading.
Sooo, educated adults making an informed threat assessment is stoking hysteria? The fact is, we have crossed a line in time. Back behind that line, there was no Ebola in America and, as such, there was no threat. Now, on the far side of that line, there is Ebola in America and there is a threat. The extent of that threat is the big unknown. But, looking back through history at other similar lines that were crossed, we can see that the threat potential of any incurable, easily transmitted, high mortality disease is high. This isn’t stoking hysteria, this is simply recognizing that there is a potential for this to be a major threat to the health and welfare of the citizens of this country and the fact is, the administration has, thus far, been more focused on minimizing that threat than eliminating it.

I don't think the White House has been "giving the public a false sense of security". (They'd like to, I am sure. Particularly since Obama would take credit.)
Thanks to the White House having absolutely no cred about anything at this point, this is the most panic I've seen since Y2K when the computers couldn't count past 1999, all the the lights would go off and we were all gonna die.
