Yusufzai remains at large despite an international arrest warrant being issued for his capture.

My 97 year old mother refuses to fly as every movement is difficult. She can’t get into her shoes by herself and has difficulty manipulating things with her fingers. The process TSA put her through was ludicrous. I had to hire a car and a driver to bring her to my home as I could not take the time off. It cost the same as an airplane ticket and the uniformed driver treated her like a queen.
It’s time to rethink the TSA idea. Israel has nothing like it and has not had a hijacking. But their system involves skilled work in identifying people who are potential hijackers.

Israel may have a Jewish majority, but as far as ethnicity goes they’re a lot more diverse than we are. I worked for an Israeli company and probably no two were exactly the same ethic makeup. (Although it may also be that recent émigrés were more likely to accept posts in the USA.) The ones I met came from all over Europe, Russia, the middle east and parts of Asia as well as different locales in the USA. I didn’t meet any black Israelis but there are quite a few.
As for their common Jewishness I can tell you that what it means to be a Jew is different among the ones I knew. They were as different as Catholic is from fundamentalist Christian or Mormon. Politically, though, the ones I knew were so far left that that many were outright communists. From that perspective the ones I knew were much more homogenous in their (indoctrinated) thinking. Incidentally, the dual citizens vote in elections here and as near as I could tell never voted Republican. The Dems could run an orangutan and they’d vote for him.
Most Israelis are right wingers, especially the Russians. MOST Israelis who hold dual citizenship as Americans vote REPUBLICAN, hands down. They dislike Obama as much as any “normal” American. Maybe 40 years or more ago, they voted Socialist but today this is not the case.
But you ignore the big issue no one wants to talk about. This goes way beyond profiling.

If the Israelis I knew found out somebody voted Republican they’d have held an intervention. Of course, I have no idea what filters may have been in place that selected or self-selected the ones I worked with. They all, for example, spoke and wrote English. By the time I got there many were dual citizen Americans, due to passport and job restrictions. I had the impression that most of the actual full-time Israelis were lower class and they could live it up over here with their greater hardship pay. Clearly the president and his top directors acted as if they were princes. They had the parking changed so they had their own lot. Their offices were decorated as opposed to furnished. They ate lunch at a local country club instead of restaurants. I have no idea what their politics were but they bragged of how in Israel the company bought lunch. Another Israeli described lunch. It came in three classes. The unwashed masses had a self-serve cafeteria with meat and potatoes and little variety. The middle managers had a much higher end cafeteria with people to dish out what you wanted. The top guys had tuxedoed waiters and real silverware and got to order from a menu.
