“Cartoon Network, Adult Swim,”
Oh noes!
And no CNN? What if I want biased news but not MSNBC level biased?
I hate when this happens, just work it out you money-grubbing bastards.
1)Have the content providers agree with the service providers on a price they will receive per channel per customer. No minimums or maximums. NO bundled agreements at this level. Every channel must stand on its own.
2)Allow the service providers to then mark up the cost for a particular channel by up to 100%. I do think they should be allowed to recoup their costs and make a profit. They can provide whatever channel bundles they wish as long as the customer has the choice of a la carte pricing at no more than 100% of what the Service Provider is paying.
3) Allow customers to pick and choose what they want and don't want.
4)Once you make your initial pick, you must keep it at least three months you will have the option to add channels but you should have to pay back to the beginning of the current cycle and keep the channel for at least six months. I could even see a $1.00, per channel charge for the reprogramming, in either direction, of your cable box. This would cut down on channel thrashing.
The channels that provide content people are willing to pay for will prosper, those that don't, won't.
I would expect the ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN/MS-LSD to scream bloody murder knowing they would likely lose customers. CNN, HLN, & MS-LSD might be looking at Chapter 11. It would put STRONG downward pressure on wages and the other expenses of show production.

It might do that too, but as long as I get MAVTV and SEC football I’m not going to sweat it.
TCM is worth the time... the rest of the lineup is crap...
This is not going to increase MSNBC’s ratings.
